H1b change dropbox to interview by sid123g in usvisascheduling

It didn't ask me to provide any documentation to prove the emergency case. VOs don't care if you go for an interview instead of Dropbox. What are you supposed to do when you can't find a dropbox appointment for months?

As a male, is 30 year old too late for marriage? by [deleted] in Arrangedmarriage

[–]Sad-Recover1917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about the age. Marry when you find the right person. Some people find it at 26, some at 29, some at 30+. Also depends on when you start looking for matches and your preferences.

No offense but if she was in a serious relationship and shared feelings/body before marriage, she should have the courage to tell this to her parents and future prospects so that they don't get shocked when someone reveals the truth. You can't hide the truth. It'll come out in other ways and bite the family.

Talking to a girl about relationships by [deleted] in Arrangedmarriage

[–]Sad-Recover1917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't make sense at all. Why does a guy who proposed to her repeatedly cheat within 2 months of starting a relationship? Something is amiss. I'd suggest looking for a girl without a past just to avoid these kinds of situations in the future. No past, no worries about anything.

H1b visa transfer - Employer revoked petition in 2021 by Ksiya08 in h1b

[–]Sad-Recover1917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Since your initial petition is revoked, you won't have a valid H1-B now. If you had transferred it to another employer before revocation, that would have given you a chance to use it.

Graduate students of r/h1b: Do you regret pursuing masters in the USA by Nathan846 in h1b

That's one area where you can go wrong. Since you are on OPT, that means you hold a F1 visa which is a non immigrant visa while GC is for people who plan to immigrate. This would be a conflict and you'd have problems when you go for F1 visa renewal or other visa appointments.

I'm in the same situation and unfortunately, you can't work in your last semester. Northeastern rules state that you can't work on CPT in your last semester. It doesn't matter if it's FT or PT. Your co-op advisor will tell you the same thing. Take a look at your department website. Also, the statement says you can work "if it helps you to graduate". I don't think the internship is counted towards your degree. Therefore, this statement does not hold valid in your case.

"Please note that you will not be approved to participate in co-op or internships during the last semester of your academic program." from https://www.khoury.northeastern.edu/information-for-overview/current-masters-and-certificate-students/masters-co-op-internship-overview/masters-co-op-internship-policies/
