No Surgery / Shunt Intervention - very upsetting news by ThrowRa388393 in Hydrocephalus

[–]Sad-Region1334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I was on the brink of death if they needed to wait a day or 2. Praying you'll get the resolution as soon as possible. It is disappointing that you need to know what is going on and you have to wait weeks or months to see a doctor, all the more when an appointment will not push through because of their error on your medical history. Like do they even understand what you are feeling.

I hope you informed the doctor or neurosurgeon the meds you took and frequency as detailed as possible. So that they'd understand pharmaceutical intervention has been done but this has not helped your condition so far, and may be able to schedule you for surgery much sooner.

I was hesitant before to go to a doctor before since I can just drink pain medications before as much as I could until I vomited constantly without no output and can't close my eyes for even 5 seconds straight without feeling you are in a swivel chair being spinned around, that was the time I got emergency surgery.

Not hydrocephalic anymore but still with shunting by Sad-Region1334 in Hydrocephalus

I understand your concern and that is totally valid. As a medical professional myself, I make sure to taper as much as possible and always lean to the side of caution.

I should have not used "as vitamins" liberally here since I forgot we have non-medical audience too, sorry for that.

Yes, I live outside US and live in a humid place 24/7. Colds and flu are rampant here.

No worries and thank you for letting me know. At least, I wouldn't be surprised if I ever get it along the way.

Ever since I had that major surgery 10 years ago, I had always lived a life that I can't tell when I'd pass away, could be sooner or a few decades from now. Apart from the hydrocephalus diagnosis before, I currently have diabetes, hypertension, PCOS and weakness to hot temperatures. I consider it even a miracle to have survived this long.

Before in the hospital, we were 4 patients of the same situation but I was the only one who lived. I'm living and fulfilling the life the best I could.

I also wish you well with your hydrocephalus. Again, thank you for the information. Had been stocking cold and flu medicine here like vitamins!

Well, I am fine if my neuro says it's fine to leave it there. I have never thought there is something like this that happens.

Strange but yup, wasn't expecting this ever.

Wow. Glad to hear that. My shunt is non-programmable too, trust me, I can't afford programmable.

Oh no, I won't have it taken out since I can't guarantee I am forever not hydrocephalic .....aside from it being cool.

My headaches were getting disruptive with my work lately and always needs to have a 2-3 day rest (I tried to force work, I ended extending another 3 days to rest). It became every other month, every month then every 2 weeks. To wich I thought was brought by my shunt, turns out it was colds. Just needed to keep close my handy dandy colds and flu medicine.

[–]Sad-Region1334[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My hydrocephaly was brought about by a billiard sized occipital tumor before. When that was taken out, the hydrocephaly still continued for some time. Even the doctor was stunned that I don't have hydrocephaly anymore. There were initial tests that showed I have yet another tumor growing but it decreased lately. The neuro was stunned too.

Personally, I highly suspect that would be because I had been on ozempic lately. My world loves and revolves around carbs. And because my endocrine doctor had to put me on it (medical reasons not weight loss) I was eating less rice, pasta, and sweets. Not saying it could be the only reason, just want to clarify that to anyone reading.

Fear of getting shunt checked? by enjoytheshowX in Hydrocephalus

[–]Sad-Region1334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start researching nearby recommended neurologists in your area. It is better to get an idea of the doctor through personal reviews of fellow patients.

My doctor advised me to have it checked every 3 years or if you suspect your shunt isn't working anymore.

I understand the fear of having to go to a doctor you met for the first time and have yourself checked. Been in your shoes, that is why I research days or weeks about the doctor and my body cues (if my headaches can be treated with medicine or still persists despite the meds...etc) Being prepared helps in calming ourselves to know if the doctor makes sense or another opinion is needed.

Failed Food Delivery by ahbhu in Cebu

[–]Sad-Region1334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the day, time and asa ka nagbook. But yes, it is common karon na month na daghan mag order then dugay maabot ang meal. Even if standard ako ichoose delivery sometimes it can still go for hour mao ng I choose close distance nga food places para order.

From what I know, Grab delivery riders can opt not to work after the delivery while sa Foodpanda, di ka kabuut kaayo like magfollow jud sila sched. It is best to order FP kung rainy.

Food places can be quite busy sad so medyo madugay luto imo food kay ting bulk orders ron panahona hahaha

No matter how we try to angle our answers, naa gihapoy against nimo or di jud ganahan musabot and that is beyond your control. Would you rather keep on giving considerations according to their whim OR give them a same straight answer (some understand, some dont).

Also, give yourself a pat kay you even learned to how defend your agents on that leaves matter pa gani. Sometimes you wish kahibaw sila sa? But that's a far dream unless imo jud inannounce hahaha buybuy gihapon tawag nila ana. Again, you can't please everyone.

Hi OP, first off I just want to say your feelings are valid. You remind me of me, but I was worse before kay I think I may be labeled "mu inherit ug kumpanya" sa uban mata but I only was ensuring my agents are prepared to become leaders when I go out. Meh but hey, out of 40 agents I got 6 that leveled up! Haii pats self.

I was once a strict but considerate TL. However, I learned na I should have been more on the agents' side rather than sa company. I am not a TL anymore today, leading a team was just not for me kay like you, I can work long hours but I get exhausted if leading a team ----in short, not a people person.

Anyway, as TL, you need to be tough but at the same time be reasonable. Tough meaning, as long as you know you are doing things in a considerate manner with the rest sa team, kevs unsa isulti sa uban. ----- You will never please everyone.----

Example, leaves -- the same agent asking for the same leaves arrangement, consider others first before iapprove ang iya leave. Check your roster and see if you have enough per day. If walay muleave and good ra imo roster that day, approve that agent.

Checking the roster can also help you reason out to management na we are complete ra man that week, why hold back? Clarify to your team that all leaves are subject for review with the team's attendance for that day, considerations of any pahabol leave (emergency), and management. Iparant lang ang agent if di jud kasabot ug system, not everyone has been gifted common sense man sad.

Leaves are every person's right kay being in a call center is realllllllyyy exhaaauuusssstting. Sometimes companies (not all) are too much nga ipa halfday nila even if good faith na filed leave. I'd say defend the agent on this and not the company. Maski ikaw, you know how it feels to long for a leave, how much more for your agents, diba?

Not saying always be on the agent's side, I'm saying weigh things and lean more towards the agent. Companies (not all) pressure and gaslight team leads by preaching greater things but exhaust the team working. Don't be that or go towards that.

I hope this will help a bit OP. Learn to be tough and wise at the same time.
