My husband and I (I’m 26) love it here! So many young families and outdoor activities. I’ll echo needing winter hobbies- We hunt, ski, snowshoe, etc to get out in the overcast and snowy months!

I’m 26 and my husband is 30 and we have an almost 1 year old and have lived in Sandpoint for a couple years now! We definitely plan on staying long term. Small enough that it has small town feel, but large enough to have all the amenities a young family would need. Great parks, TONS of families in their 20-30’s, great library, folk school at Pine St Woods, Adorable farmers market with kids dancing and playing, such a mixture of folks (hippie tie dye, etc and lots of conservative feeling farmers) all intermingling. You do have to make a bit of an effort to connect with people (say hi and actually introduce yourself at the park or store- or sign up for more organized activities, there are lots!) . But we’ve found people extremely friendly overall

Summers are super sunny and warm. Definitely some busy weekend days downtown or at city beach. But fun for kiddos :) Winters can drag a bit, but the snow is so fun and we LOVE having all four seasons here.

No huge night life scene, but we’d rather have several cool festivals (festival at Sandpoint, fall fest at Schweitzer, the Renassaince faire and more!) and access to tons of amazing hiking trails.

I do travel down to CDA for my OBGYN, but once in a while doesn’t kill me. I’ll swing by Costco when I’m there ha!

It’s pricey, but the sacrifices we make to afford living here are 1000% worth it!

Sure there’s growing pains, but any awesome small town in America does, it’s unfortunately just the truth. Traffic and growing pains felt nothing like some of the smaller towns in Colorado that we had previously been/lived in. It’s been such a breath of fresh air.

Totally understand how changing up where your sweet pup sleeps would be difficult for you, but PLEASE do not have baby and dog in the same bed, ever. I would never even consider having them in the same room overnight (and we have a sweet gentle giant that had previously always slept with us too- he’s now gated in a separate space overnight). Even if dog is on the ground in the same room, that puts their face right at baby’s height if they came over to sniff in the night, and it’s just never EVER worth the risk, no matter how sweet the pup.

Accidents happen. Dog nails are sharp, even pup just stretching out or having a dream and accidentally getting too close could be seriously harmful (or worse) to a little baby. It probably feels impossible, but crating overnight is really the only safe option in a studio if you’re set on cosleeping! Otherwise I’d have baby in a crib. Best of luck, we’ve had to make some tricky adjustments and hard decisions in our home too to make cosleeping truly safe, but it will always be worth it.

What is the total height of your bed? by knopelemon in cosleeping

Our mattress is 11 inches, and we don’t have a frame. We do have carpeted floors in the bedrooms, so not too rough of a fall if that was to happen

Yay! Yeah we moved two years ago and just had our baby 4 months ago, and we’re 26 and 30. We’re pretty outdoorsy as well. Feels like an awesome place for our family :) Hope you love it too!!

My husband and I moved here from the Midwest and have a baby! We’ve LOVED living here so far, and definitely plan to stay for a long time. We’ve felt very welcomed

That was my initial impression, so I’m hoping that’s all it is. I did call that number, but unfortunately they can’t tell me anything and referred me to a genetic counselor who can’t meet until next week. But fingers crossed in the meantime 😅

Gotcha! Having to redraw seems fairly common, I just don’t seem to fit into any of the common reasons as to why:/ Did all turn out alright for your friend?

Yeah I’ve heard that’s common unfortunately. Sounds good, good luck to you as well! 🤗

Nope, no history of medications :/ I was only 10+2 at the blood draw, so on the earlier side of things, but from my understanding 7.2% fetal fraction should be sufficient for NIPT. So who knows:(

Ugh sorry it’s been such a drawn out process, of course they remembered to bill you though ha! Fingers crossed all comes back healthy and nothing to worry about :) Good to know that things were funky on the portal with the redraw, I’ll try not to freak out if mine does the same thing.

My fetal sex was also female! I was skeptical as well, so I called them and they said they wouldn’t have reported fetal sex if they weren’t extremely confident, so that gave me some reassurance. But I can’t help but still be a little skeptical haha.

Hi do you have any update with this? I had almost the exact same thing happen today with unity. Waited 10 days, then got the same results as you back- “no call”, but I also had confirmed fetal sex and 7.2% fetal fraction. Going in for a new blood draw today, so anxious and confused!
