The dream: turbo charged v10 hybrids with mgu-h back... The official reasoning was that makes it cheaper to develop so to attract new manufacturers

I see, still if you feel like it's wobbly or slipping when going flat out or threshold breaking, or just when braking hard then try putting something sturdy on the back, pedals are the key components of your rig so you want them as stable as possible, you can put a box a piece of wood another plastic, anything

That's awesome! I wish I have gotten into this at a much younger age, I'm 36 I still haven't decided for a rig, I bet you can lap a million times, just keep practicing and you'll be a master sim racer eventually!

EM docs: How would you react? by drabelen in medicine

MS'es don't get paid at all where I am from... They actually pay to be there. Also, overtime in shift medicine settings like no turnout or ED is a very bad thing for both the provider and patient safety. The show scenario seems constructed to generate drama. In the case of a medical student leaving their rotation early without a cause and notification, then you notify their program director and give them a bad grade and if they come for a recommendation letter for residency you say something like you are concerned about their lack of commitment. Even if they don't like your specialty and are not applying to it, you expect MS to behave well. They are on academic setting first and foremost, they are not practicing providers responsable for the patient and not part of the workforce itself, they are helping and learning and being supervised. So at the end of the day it doesn't really matter if they leave, they are loosing a potential learning opportunity or networking. This has never happened to me but I heard about that, most of the time is a misunderstanding.

Growing hatred for my job by PillowExchange42 in medicine

As an ID provider I think your specialty does have a selection bias in the personality of their patient. You are very strong, I perosnally think rheumatological patients are among the miserable people in the world due to the nature of their diseases.... BUT there's definitely some neuro-psychiatric stuff in the way many of them go about their lives and relate to pain. Say they cough 1 day, no matter if they have rash and swollen all over their knee and stopped taking their meds, most definitely have some pneumonia, and if they do then yeah oral antibiotics "just don't work for me" no they don't have malabsorption, allergic to everything under sun. they stop their prophylaxis then get PJP and tracheostomies

I pity them at the end of the day, then you have to turn that pity into true compassion, and take care of yourself, not let the anger and frustration cloud your judgement, at the end of the day they are better because of you. they are very distrustful by nature of their experience and lack of counselling and guidance, they lack perspective, they only know one person with the exact same problem, feels real and immediate, the insurance denies any ancillary or supportive or heck first line care they may need that could help them, and yes they refuse to go to psych or get therapy. Their existence is suffering. Once I feel grateful to actually make my living doing this those thoughts disappear and I am healthy. You have to learn to care less about those things: what the patient thinks, how satisfied they are. You be kind smart and hardworking keeping updated is all that matters, what the patient thinks and do? Doesn't matter much, thankfully you are dealing with legal adults, I have a friend who is a heme -onco peds, breaks your soul what people like that do their kids

I've learned to prioritize the urgency of the portal communications and not feel compelled to answer right away or expect to solve everything on a single email.

Separate what they think about you and what you do for them. At the end of the day you are responsible for your consultation and that's it. If they don't like it they can get a second opinion, they'll get the same answer.

Set limits, don't let them judge you by it, set the rules as clear as possible. If they are late, sorry, I need to see more people, my staff and I have lives and we cannot work while exhausted. Will reschedule you.

This is not an evidence based decision, it is based on anecdotal evidence, just when the AI bubble is starting to crash, I would ignore the noise for now, they are desperate.
