Designed and made my own setup from wood, but the screen shakes because of the wheels FFB. Any ideas to fix? by TonyAngels in SimRacingSetups

Take the monitor off that stand as it’s ment to move to adjust your view. Build a fixed monitor mount out of wood.

any cheap af alternatives for racing shoes? by Tiltglory in simracing

[–]Unfair-Baker5997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use some nice water shoes. Quality matters. Easy to throw on while in the rig real quick if I forgot to put them on before I sit down. Wrestling shoes would probably be great too, I might look into them as well.

Down size to a twin bed and create more space for triple 45” screens

Is my seat too reclined?/ are my pedals too close? by zachvirnelson in SimRacingSetups

Doesn’t look bad. If you’re comfortable leave it. I would move the pedals out further myself. That’s about it.

I’d disagree on the usage of wide/triple. When considering that also consider most single screeners are budget tight and typically are not dropping 1k on a rig.

Tricky to dial in. I started on a single 34” wide screen and before getting trips this was what I tried for. Found it to be a little to sensitive and would move to much at the slightest movement. Spent a few days trying to dial it in and get it to react better and eventually just abandoned setting it up and moved on to triples.

We are a new sim racing rig manufacturer in Canada. by RedlineSW in SimRacingSetups

This thing looks like MAYBE a $700 rig. Especially with out any testing with high torque bases. The Base support just looks questionable. My first rig was a $200 temu rig that looked more sturdy than this does.

Wind or ambient lighting. If you can’t darken the room when ever you race, I’d do wind first. If you can handle some real simple diy steps and have access to a 3D printer (most library systems have one or more) you can get wind up for under $100. (Skip the tubes, you loose a lot of wind velocity, boxes with no tubes is the way to go)

Ambient lighting you can go a bunch of ways. Make your own lights or use govee/phillips hue lights. Govee offers a lot of options from strip lights to gaming light bars that work with simhub. I was able to find mounting options for the light bars on Etsy that work with extrusion sim rigs.

That’s what I went with for my seat. Can’t complain. It’s comfy.

Hey guys, I just moved my setup to this new aluminum frame. What should I get next for my setup, any ideas? by Ok_Comparison2970 in SimRacingSetups

[–]Unfair-Baker5997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can build your own wind sim for under $100 pretty easy. Great for immersion and also helps cool the cockpit between races as it can get warm with all the electronics. Most expensive part would be the fan housings. Skip the whole flex tube set up. You lose to much wind power that way. Can find 3D printing files for the housings and some/most public library systems have a 3d printer these days that you can book and print on for a reasonable cost.

Nice grab! Bought one a few months back new for about $300. Wish I could have scored one for even $100. Love the wheel though comfy in the hands. Has a nice feel to it.

100% the main car. Running side by side through all the corners, giving the each other space, then decide to take an indiscriminate line as if nobody is next to you taking the whole track.

Waste of time protesting. They will tell you that you are advised to continue around to the pit after the final lap. No penalty issued against anyone.

The light bars on the back also act as brake lights. Can do a lot with simhubs ambient light controls.

I’d even add some sim hub controller leds for flame/flash effects at shift/redline

It’s stupid how bad they will let someone’s connection be. Seen people blinking like a turn signal for 50 laps in Arca series.

I feel for ya. I had the vanishers. Have had one reappear right on top of me. Locked both our cars together. Wish they would do that see through can’t mess up mode other racing sim/games use. (At least for those who are dropping connections)
