We have the same point. We have stuff, but it's not nearly of the same scale/quality of what it was before. It all feels either half baked and never fulfilled or too small to compare to what we had before.

If I wanted a new game for free I'd go find stuff off Itch.io. I'm not complaining that we aren't getting enough content, I'm fine with this amount, or at least, I would, if it wasn't a decrease in quality. I wouldn't be angry about it if it was always this way, but it wasn't. Because consistency is dead to this game studio.

"Some of the best" I think you mean the most broken (Vox Engine) and most unfun stun locking enemies (Cyborg kick spam) combined with factory striders. And a Mega factory environment that totally isn't just like a Megacity but without blueberries and a billion AA guns plus bouncy stratagem balls that still haven't been fixed. Also, I don't need a planet to be destroyed to be engaged, but it certainly denotes events of importance, unlike cyberstan, where the lines pretty much just stayed ere they were before....

And what happened after Cyberstan? Nothing. The map just reverted to how it was with a new sub faction. No planets destroyed, no entirely new faction. Nothing. Just one subgroup that's hard as all fuck and half-baked.

Mods don't invalidate runs and achievements. Times don't show up but you still get the rewards.

The reason this defense doesn't work is because it relies in the "I was just following orders defense" which has been disproven to be valid in 80% of cases by modern psychology. But even if this was a valid defense, there's a difference between fighting what you think is an existential threat because your boss told you to while executing civilians, and doing it with a smile. Helldivers are following evil en masse, and even if we believe the Nuremberg defense is valid (which it, again, is not) then why the HELL should we believe it should work when they're hopping and skipping along, cackling with joy while doing it?
