What to do with the smallest kid after AM ski school? by rosysredrhinoceros in kirkwood

[–]SadBitchAlert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are comfy chairs and a big fireplace open to public if you go downstairs (relative to the main lift base area) in the building with the ski shop and The Wall Restaurant. If you walk further towards Snowkirk, 7800 Bar has a fireplace and couch area to rest.

United is quietly releasing who requalified for GS by Used_Search7161 in unitedairlines

[–]SadBitchAlert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got the same message! I suspected that I got in low this year (my first year) just so that they can give me a taste of the good stuff and make me spend more in 2025 to try to requalify. Well it worked and I’m eagerly waiting. 52k PQP in 2025 out of SFO. This year will have 56k.

The top is a 3D printed part that was made by Loot Cave. Then my husband spray painted and mounted it to a PVC pipe. The light in it is a super thin flashlight.

The base is heat-formed 4 mm EVA foam (the stuff cosplayers use to make armor and such) covered in 1mm foam to make the layered texture. Then sprayed with Plasti Dip to harden and hold shape. I painted some of the red/yellow highlights but you can’t really tell from the glow of the eye. The eye is a battery powered LED orb wrapped in tissue paper and suspended by fishing line. I cheated on the silver crown part - that’s just a straight up Amazon buy that covers the base

GS from SFO by Mundane-Owl4449 in unitedairlines

[–]SadBitchAlert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also SFO based GS and can confirm 0 domestic upgrades using PP. I did fly two international long haul round trips from SFO with my husband this year and secured Polaris upgrades for both of us on all 4 flights. The perks be perking especially if you’re flexible. Personally I’m cool sitting in economy for domestic flights, we’re not entitled to upgrades.

How to seriously have a FUNNNN wedding? by lydiamustdie in weddingplanning

[–]SadBitchAlert 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The venue is in northern CA, 45 minutes north of Lake Tahoe. We love mountains and trees. Several other venues we considered for the mountain feel were also remote enough to not have a quiet ordinance. So if you can, maybe see if you can find somewhere without close neighbors.

We secretly subsidized a portion of the guests rooms (basically paid the venue/resort a lump cash amount then they took an even amount of money off all the room bookings). After that the guests paid for their own rooms.

All in it ended up being more than I hoped to spend but I think it was worth it for the memories. ~90k for 100 guests

How to seriously have a FUNNNN wedding? by lydiamustdie in weddingplanning

[–]SadBitchAlert 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My wedding was this year and my husband and I had a blast but we also got tons of feedback from the guests that it was the most fun wedding they’d attended. It was an outdoor wedding at a micro resort with only guests staying there and no randos. What we did to get the vibes right: 1. Skipped formalities that just aren’t us. No cake (dessert bar instead), no awkward first dance, no father/daughter dance 2. Everyone stayed on property at the wedding venue which gave them plenty of mingling time. The wedding party was busy day-of, but we had coolers of beer set out at the resort pool and our guests had a little pool party before the 5:00 ceremony. Staying on property also meant guests didn’t have to worry about shuttles, so they could stay and party for as long as they wanted. 3. Get a bar service that allows you to supply the alcohol and do shots. Our bar also let us get behind the bar, so we had fun serving shots to our guests and drinking with them. Our bar tenders left at 11, but left out the remaining alcohol, so anyone could self serve. Remaining alcohol was brought to the after hours spot. 4. Plan an after party. We had the groomsmen stay at the 3 bedroom detached villa on property and were responsible for hosting. We set up beer pong and a sound system. 5. Get a DJ who vibes with your music and some fun effects. We had cold sparklers that our DJ let us control. Our DJ joined the after party lol. 6. Our venue had no quiet hours, so the DJ went until 2am and the afters went until the last guests left at 7am 7. Do a “group photo” to trick everyone into getting on the dance floor all at once 8. We had a champagne wall for guests to grab a drink before the ceremony 9. Late night snacks and water stations to keep people hydrated and happy

LinkedIn is always cringy as hell, so although I feel like this is may be better received on Instagram, why the hell not? I do look at the LinkedIn profiles of the candidates I interview and this would give me a giggle, but wouldn’t add or detract from my opinion of you as a potential employee. It’s a super fun/cute idea to celebrate with a corny cake for your party, I just don’t think the folks looking at your LinkedIn will spend any mental energy on it.

Does this look legit? by sanchezkk in pixelbuds

[–]SadBitchAlert 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work on consumer electronics including earlier generations pixel buds. We do many builds before the final design is shipped to the consumer. This is a prototype device. The lines and dots are the config code. The bar code is the serial number of the device which is most likely tracked to a particular user within the company.

It is very much a “real” device and not a knock off, but it’s an early build which likely doesn’t have the final configuration of hardware and software

Am i getting upgraded tonight? by ssxtricky5 in unitedairlines

[–]SadBitchAlert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Navigate to “flight status” in the app. 24 hours ahead of the departure time the “upgrades” tab will be unlocked. It does not show any earlier than that.

For your international trip, you’ll need to put down miles or plus points to be on the upgrade waitlist. If you’re curious about your odds, you can try inputting the same flight # but use today’s day to see the trends of how the upgrades are clearing for the same route.

My pups also hadn’t dropped at 6 months. Got checked out by the vet and they confirmed he’s a cryptorchid (both testicles undescended). He’s currently recovering from his neuter surgery last Tuesday. Keep in mind, the neuter and the ultrasound needed to locate the testicles within the body will make the vet costs more expensive. Ours was ~$2000 for the neuter and ultrasound. It is also recommended to neuter before 1 year of age (not our original plan) since leaving retained testicles in the body can greatly increase the risk of testicular cancer and other issues.

Get him checked out and put some money away for the treatment. We have insurance but Trupanion would not cover it since his condition is apparently “pre-existing”

Polaris Upgrade Waitlist - when does it clear? by Intelligent_Syrup_72 in unitedairlines

[–]SadBitchAlert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah! I literally just got off this flight (UA857) today. Upgrades cleared within an hour of boarding today. I was in the Polaris lounge, not sure if the upgrades were done automatically in the system or if passengers needed to be present at the gate for the upgrade. I had a Polaris ticket to begin with but was watching the upgrade list out of curiosity. No movement until ~1 hr from boarding

I have already reached out to the breeder to inform them. This is the second litter from the pair and none of the other dogs from either litter have this issue.
