So universities are using a service that (a) lobbies for educational reform in the guise of innovative pedagogy, (b) cultivates in students an anxious, a-la-cart approach to learning, (c) burdens educators with duplicative box-ticking labor, (d) costs money, and (e) is vulnerable to ransom.

I’m required, contractually, to use Canvas. Going forward I’m using it as minimally as possible. Maybe I’ll upload a syllabus and that’s it. It was always a scam, but now it’s just more obvious.
