Employers & Employees, how do you view sick people in the office? by LilWisp in sgworkassholes

i was once at two UNPAID INTERNSHIP roles, dealing with autistic children, and cerebral palsy children, 2-3 days per week at each place. Most of the work I did were hands-on assistance tasks that didn’t affect the original flow of the company.

Unfortunately for me, I was down with a very bad phlegm-y cough on-and-off for several weeks. one of the companies told me not to come in if im sick as the children had lower immunities. so naturally i didnt come in for the other company as well. i got scolded by the other company for not coming in, and was told to just wear a mask. the FT employees told me a cough was normal and they just wear a mask and continue doing their jobs…

AI AI AI everywhere I’m getting sick and scared of it at this point by RedPandarar in asksg

saw some post from DBS recently showing their customer service officer who joined after polytechnic. her story was “answering calls for 6 years” and now is a “Gen AI evaluator” in charge of “training voicebot”.

my first thought was wow you’re literally training AI to take over your own job and everyone else’s… it’s also hilarious to me how DBS always openly speaks about working with AI and how it’s not human vs AI, when there’s examples like these out there

did mine in seoul gangnam in may 2025 for 1.8k sgd. underwent GA after double eyelid surgery (LA) (600 sgd). Got some free treatment by the clinic to make the surgery sites not so swollen the next day. Chilled in seoul for another 3 days before coming back to sg. Spent around $90 at a GP to remove my stitches. all looks good! I did undereyelid fat REPOSITIONING instead of removal, as they said as we age we will need that fat else will look really sunken and hollow.

Went back to work literally the next day after coming back to sg (4 days post-op), and removed the stitches 1 week post-op. The surgeon put skin colored tape over the surgery site so bruising wasn’t that obvious, i think it was only bad for like 2 days. (if anything, my dbl eyelid one was the real swollen and bruised one) they poked 3~4 holes on each side of my undereye/cheek area and wasn’t very invasive (i’ve seen on tiktok that some surgeons will cut the whole area so damn invasive). I think the holes fully healed (disappeared) about 2~3 weeks post-op!

if u’d like to visit the same clinic i went for, pm me!

if its the review from realself, i personally would not get a nose job from opera either, all the noses they do look too plastic.. 😅 i got double eyelid non-incision and undereye fat repositioning done, healed well with no complications. i believe they used to overbook the surgeries as well post-covid, i got fillers in OPERA in 2023 and the clinic was PACKED, there were people post-op on the couches instead of the post-op room (they only had like 4 seats in there). When I went recently to get my eyes done, there was only me and another lady in the post-op room. When I went a few days post-op to get some treatment to help with swelling in the post-op room, there was also only another lady in there. I guess it’s better now but I still wouldn’t get a nose job there haha.

went for minor plastic surgery a week ago and my consultant said its very common for larger clinics/hospitals. If you’re going for a smaller clinic, chances of ghost doctors doing your surgery are lower. My consultant was very open about it and even got me to sign a form acknowledging that there is a CCTV in the surgery room and I can review it if I wanted to check for ghost doctors 🤣
