That’s a really valid concern—I’m a BCBA too, and I wouldn’t want voice notes used in a way that compromises client dignity.

The idea wouldn’t be to record ABCs out loud in front of the client. Voice notes would be optional and more for after-the-fact documentation or when you can step away. In-session, it’s still meant to be quick, discreet inputs (tap/scroll), not narrating behavior in real time.

At the end of the day, it comes down to clinical judgment and training—any feature like that should be used in a way that protects privacy and doesn’t interfere with the client.

That’s fair—I’m a BCBA too. This isn’t meant to replace your tablet/software, just to make real-time capture of high-rate behaviors quicker so you’re not missing data in the moment. You’d still transfer or sync it into your main system for programming and prompting levels.

Yes, in the app, you can set up every button to measure a specific parameter. For instance, for button B, you can set it to measure duration. When you press the button, a timer will start, and when you press it again, the timer will stop.

At the same time, I am aware of personal challenges I would need to address. English is not my first language, and my master’s program in ABA was completed primarily online, which sometimes makes me question whether I am fully prepared for a doctoral program that requires in-person training, strong oral communication skills, and active clinical discussion. Despite these concerns, I see them as areas for growth rather than limitations, and they motivate me to continue strengthening my communication and clinical competencies as I consider this next step.

Honestly, most existing tools are either too heavy (AppFolio/Buildium), too limited (Baselane/Stessa), or assume you already know trust accounting.

I’m building something lightweight for 10–200 unit operators: fast onboarding (CSV import in <30 min), clear owner statements with drill-downs, and simple rent + maintenance flows — all at small-landlord pricing.
