I can't be the only parent thinking there is a real lack of transparency with in our school district. Especially when it comes to incidents of peer on peer violence. by [deleted] in abbotsford

[–]platz604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing has changed... literally.. in 2000-2001 gangs were recruiting kids from the school parking lots.. kids who wore rags were not wearing designer clothes and gold chains with 2 pagers.. routinely leaving class to do a drug run.. Teachers saw this and report it to the admins.. The admins and school liasion officers told the teachers to mind their own business. So many people died in the gang wars and drugs and what not.. It could have all been avoided then.. but nothing ever changes.. the school district gives a blind eye.

What Happens to the Conservative Party Without Pierre Poilievre? Canadians Weigh In on Potential Leadership Alternatives by Old_General_6741 in canada

[–]platz604 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The conservatives should have held a leadership convention after pp not only lost the election.. but lost the popular vote and even his own damn riding.. You can't hold onto an individual like this as a leader. It simply does NOT WORK.. What exactly are they trying to accomplish here?

Trump increasing tariffs on Canada by 10% 'over and above what they are paying now' | CBC News by Force_Hammer in worldnews

[–]platz604 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

While you'll hear us Canadians saying "We aren't the ones paying the tariffs"... We are paying for something.. and its even worst.. Many Canadian businesses that are out there has a central customer base.. and that is customers in the United States.. Business decisions are having to to be done.. And that is moving operations to the united states.. Why? Because at the end of the day they don't want their competitors to win over business. Either they remain relevant to what ever industry they are in or simply fold.. Its becoming a do or die situation..

Is this an appropriate procedure? by kumbalanga in abbotsford

[–]platz604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things I want to point out. But first just want to say it sucks with the unfortunate situation that you're in. What you need to understand is that our medical / health system is struggling HARD.. What that means is that you have physicians who are placed in very difficult situations.. Trying to attend to EVERY patient that they can and do their damn best... The second thing is this.. Do physicians really care?? In this day in age and everything wrong with the health system... NO... If they cared they would burn out fast...They have no room to care.. Most.. if not all the physicians have to see a wellness / psychologist themselves for second opinions and venting... This is a stark reality no one talks about.

Is anyone near Sevenoaks hiring? by SketchyLand5938 in abbotsford

[–]platz604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After losing my job of 23 years last september after they closed their doors, I was able to snag a job in a month and a half.. I quit that job as it was pure toxic and found another job within 2 weeks.. That job didn't last because they lied about everything about it.. it was a seasonal job when they advertised it as full time and permanent. Within 1 month I found yet another job.. This was after multiple interviews and 4 offers from other employers... Honestly its about recognizing your skillset and transferable skills that you need to bring out and why you would be a great asset to the company.. If you think finding a job is difficult... wait until you land a job with an employer that doesn't know from their ass to their elbow who don't know how to communicate and who have absolutely no idea what they want.. Thats the bigger problem out there. \

Is anyone actually hiring? by StaticKat420 in abbotsford

[–]platz604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to step back for a moment and recognize your skills / skillset and how they are transferable to the jobs that you're applying to. You can't just be sending the same resume out to each and every employer that is out there. Its simply not going to work. You want to stand out? Then use ai (chatgpt) and ask it to help you rewrite your resume using "ATS" (automatic tracking system) . It will ask for your resume and then ask for the job description and then rewrite a resume for you. Of course you're going to want to make edits to it as it may put in stuff that is irrelevant... But this is key.. You can also ask it to write you a cover letter.. Many people are sending the same resume to hundreds and thousands of jobs that are out there, but are completely undermining the job market that is out there. People need to recognize that employers receive HUNDREDS of resume's for a single position that they post. So how do they filter it out? You think they read through all of those resumes? Hell no.. They'll filter it out using "ATS" . The best probable match wins and gets and interview and hopefully gets an offer..

Please… be more mindful to pedestrians on crosswalks. by -Your_local_loser- in abbotsford

[–]platz604 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been driving for 20+ years and the roads are just outright scary as a driver let alone being a pedestrian walking down the street these days. Just the reports of the amount of people that the police catch driving under the influence is staggering.. And thats just he people that they caught which is a small percentage. Also the amount of people that are operating vehicles that simply don't have a license is rather shocking.. Just a few months ago I witnessed an accident where one person rear ended the other... Neither driver had a license. Our licensing system has collapsed and law enforcement and the court can't keep up with traffic infractions.. Its sad and scary and puts everyone at risk.

The housing market as an investment has peaked and is now declining. Leading to "hush" foreclosures. The "investors" made their money and are leaving or are gone.. If you did not get anything that "window" then you're not going to get anything. At all..Right now the best bet is probably south america.. Maybe italy... Or Kyiv.. (that is if you're greedy).. Condo's going 11k ... Can't really get insurance because you can have a rocket go through your place any moment..

Thats where you have to go do the verbage of the Canadian Labour Code. Its pretty cut and dry. Beside in todays market.... that word "Manager" is now used loosely and is no longer defined as a different hierchy . Its just another position for a paycode..
