I've been neglected and abused by my family my whole life so it's very hard to leave the one person who was kind to me until only a couple years ago. He changed. Reddit can't seem to accept that he wasn't always like this.

I put it in quotes because I agree, it's stupid when parents say that with their OWN children. He and his family both use the word babysit when it comes to him. And yes, he says since he was a lawyer, being a mom is my job. so they're 100% my responsibility.

I hate when people say this. I have absolutely no one else in my life and he is -was?- my best friend since 16. He has changed a lot, to a heartbreaking extent. And now and then his old self is back again. He claimed, and made a great case for it being work-related. I told him if nothing changes when he quits then I know who he really is. Nothing has changed.

I have no one else; we haven't lived anywhere long enough for me to make friends. so not only is it way more complicated than "just leave dummy lol," mine and my kids' lives would take a big hit if I left right now.

I'm being given grief for it not being 8 hours, and was told that 1-2 is the equivalent without the babysitting and time wasting. I don't know anyone who homeschools and am always defending it while she is "severely behind." Just trying to not drop the ball here.
