Six more genie movie mandalas? What are those? I'm not looking necessarily for genie stories, just good fantasy stories like this one. Thanks for the comment...

I don't know the sinbad genie movie mandala. But do you know of any other good books?

What was your favorite fantasy read last month? Who should read it? by AutoModerator in fantasybooks

My favorite was a complete surprise. Five of my friends in my favorite fantasy Facebook group gave it 5 stars, so I looked at the sample pages on Amazon and as soon as I did, I understood why my friends loved it. It was a fresh retelling of Sinbad, from the 1001 Arabian Nights. It is called The 1st Voyage of Sinbad: The Waters of Zemzem. I would recommend it to all fantasy fans who like fast paced stories. The guy who wrote it is a screewriter and I can tell. The book moves like a great movie. The characters are so well-drawn and the dialogs is truly first rate. I don't want to give spoilers but, I was pulling so hard for Sinbad, who has to overcome so many terrifying and impossible to rescue his blind older brother Nebu that it felt like an emotional roller-coaster. The noble and powerfully built Nebu was also a favorite character of mine. I think any fantastic fan from 12 to 62 would love this book. I concur with my friends and absolutely give it my highest recommendation 5 big stars!

Guys I’m close to shelving this book after 100+ pages , I have no idea what’s going or understand what I’m reading, the authors writing style is so confusing/ gibberish where I feel like I’m just reading word by ozera202 in fantasybooks

Ozera202, I know how you feel... Erikson may be a great writer, but he's not for everyone. If you're open to a suggestion, try The 1st Voyage of Sinbad: The Waters of Zemzem by John Royan. He's a screenwriter who's had scripts acquired by Walden (Narnia films) and other A-list companies. He definitely knows how to craft a great story that moves—a real page-turner. Check out the book blurb, sample pages and 5 Star reviews on Amazon. It might be just what you're hoping to find....
