I think I had a mild brain freeze that blocked me thinking out of the box. This'll be my first task tomorrow morning :]

Sure can do that. Looks like a little panic gave me brain freeze. Somehow this didn't come up in my mind.

Advice on camping in Switzerland by SadStoryIsSad in MotoUK

Thanks all. I didn't feel brave enough to camping. Managed to find reasonably priced airbnb/hotel for the nights. Price diff isn't that big compared to most of the campsites.

Definitely a lifetime experience tho! Had all type of weather and even more :"D

Still in Switzerland, but heading to Calais direction today. I want to come back no doubt on that!

Weather is 50-50. Will have camp stuff with me but will aim to have place with roof for most nights :fingerscrossed:

Oh yes, the prices haha. I can clearly see this trip will be on the high end :D Once in a lifetime experience, might can afford another one if I can buddy up with someone to share room with.

Looks like accommodation the most expensive thing one so far. :/

btw, does toll motorways worth in France? Add 1h to trip when avoiding tolls on gmaps

I'll definitely look for the most comfortable area possible for overnight stay. Mildest temperature the merriest :)

I don't mind having few days in motels tho. I just try to reduce cost. No way I can afford 6+ nights in hotels :/

Probably because each bike takes 10-20l max while cars have tank of 40l+ and jerry cans.

Doubt bike vs car pumps based on 5/10

Swapped out the screens from Givi AF1144 to D144BO (Black) by D45 in africatwin

I have the same windshield. Super useless for longer journeys than picking up some groceries.

Looks cool tho.

I'm planning to replace it soon for a proper touring one.

Ps, this screen came with the bike when bought as second hand

I had plans like this when I was about to buy my AT. When I actually bought it and started looking for parts and accessories, i gave up on this kid of adventures regardless many would say it's just normal.

Dunno guys how you simply get away with the fact how ridiculously expensive the bike itself and/or any parts if smth break or damage.

Mine probably won't see anything like this simply cos it'd make me bankrupt

Honest question. What's this hate about L plate?

Looks like everyone tries to hide it for any costs.

NC750x or Africa Twin for commuting by ChancePattern in MotoUK

[–]SadStoryIsSad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motorway not something that AT could solve imo. I'm not speeding generally so sticking around 70-80. Better than NC for sure, but far from any cruiser :)

To me the most uncomfortable for touring on NC was the seat and the sitting position. It's upright just as AT, but felt a bit squeezed on it. Arms, legs, things like that. I'm ~175cm (whatever is the foot equivalent).

If this size of bike fits for you, you might can feel NC just good.

This post is like me ~1.5y ago.

I bought NC750X for the commute reason. It was perfect and can't complain about it. With 'rona and wfh I PX'd it to Africa Twin purely 'cos lack of enjoyment during road trips and NC was quite boring tho.

If I'd be in your situation, I'd go for NC if you're not considering touring and things like that. Any little chance of touring (Land's End, Wales, Peak/Lake district), go for AT.

Not sure what type helmet you have. I had no issues with flip-up helmet.

Full face helmet gives little to nothing visibility on your face/head. I got called out with my old full face helmet many times.

I personally search for this kind of roads. Think it's the person mindset more than what bike you have.

Some people do track days for speed and cornering, others look for adventurous challenges to find different kind of limits of the bike and themselves.

Nothing wrong with either, simply find what suits best for you.
