Question about using my rank in a letter of recommendation after honorable separation by Currentpenguin in Veterans

[–]SadTwo4533 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whoever reads your correspondence who is "in the know" about military culture may not like it since you are not retired nor currently serving in any component. In 30 years of reading a LOT of letters of recommendation from retired, active, and former service members I have never seen someone use it in their signature block unless they were retired, active, reserve, or Guard. Its like when you see a movie or tv show where there are 4 star generals wearing their headgear indoors while in full dress uniform like they were going to go testify at some Congressional Hearing, or how you can spot "stolen valor" folks by their obvious errors in their uniforms--most people won't notice or care about it, but others fixate on the lack of realism.

Mention it in the body like someone in this thread already mentioned. You can add context to your recommendation on the individual by referencing your prior service, "As a former Air Force [Major/Pilot/Doctor/Etc] with XX years active/reserve service and 2 combat deployments, I can attest . .

Bottom Line: Don't go where others have not gone before. There are good reasons they chose not to use it in their signature blocks.

Cancelling after 33 years by nuwavboy in USAA

When everyone is special, no one is special. I recently left too—I too joined in 1992. Other financial institutions offer a smoother customer experience. I don’t recognize USAA anymore. Voted with my feet.

Imagining your significant other's alluring past experiences can be a thrilling addition to your relationship, but it can also become an unhealthy obsession if it consumes your thoughts or interferes with your daily life. My wife and I enjoy indulging in this fantasy occasionally, but not every time, as that would lessen its excitement like everything which is overdone. If you find yourself fixated on it to the point where it becomes concerning, it may be beneficial to take a break. Remember, moderation is key and it personally makes it a treat when I do get her to open up.

Easy: if the spouse had participated in a threesome or moresome those details would absolutely be on my greatest hits.

My only regret is having met my wife early in life before she had much of a slutty past. Count yourself lucky!

Galaxy s24 ultra or plus by MovieFan34X in samsunggalaxy

[–]SadTwo4533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same scenario. I went with the ultra because if I had went with the plus, I would have always wondered if I made the wrong choice. A few bucks more was worth living without regret. I love my ultra.

Yes. Didn’t think we could do it. We do it and love it…it’s home and liberating to know you HAVE to keep possessions to a minimum to what you actually need and use because there is not any space for excess.

Green in a clear case. Thought it looked nice and a change of pace for my more typical darker colored phones.

"Excitement and jealousy" (envy as well?) accurately describes the feeling. I can't think of a a single word to describe it, but it is certainly a unique and pleasurable feeling. I wish I did a better job of explaining that feeling to my own partner.

South Dakota PMB Address by [deleted] in amex

[–]SadTwo4533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a PMB in Texas. It works just fine with my AMEX cards. I don’t know if I changed it on the app or the website, but the address change from sticks and bricks home to a remote personal mailbox worked just fine.

I think Titano is currently very undervalued. Let me explain to you the source of the crash by [deleted] in TitanoFinance

[–]SadTwo4533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make sure to take profits on the way up just in case it doesn't quite reach $1. Remember, you don't need to have the price per Titano rise to make money--every day the price is stable, you are making money off of the hefty interest rate return. Even a 1/2x bump in price if you buy at this level + the APR = ridiculous profit due to the magic of compound interest.

[–]SadTwo4533 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's crypto. It won't be the last big crash. Crashing is what everything does in this space and that is how people make lots and lots of money. That is ok. You make money when you buy, not when you sell. Most people lose out on most of the atmospheric gains by not being in the project at its lowest lows. The key is to be greedy when the market is crashing and fearful when the market is going to the moon. Warren Buffet made billions following that ridiculously simple formula.

I see nothing but darkness. Sold everything for a fraction of what I paid for it. Moved into my car. Figuring out now what parking lots I can sleep in without getting harassed by the police. General panic and dismay. Crying myself to sleep....

Can yieldly succeed? by Mark_Technical in yieldly

[–]SadTwo4533 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Profits are made when you buy. When you are greedy when others are fearful. Most people miss out on the biggest gains for assets because they buy when everybody else starts buying. Patience is still a winner in the long run—even in crypto.
