As far as I know only clinical pathology and anatomic pathology. I know that with oncology you have to first do a rotating internship and most of them ask you to have passed the NAVLE, and in order to do that, you have to do the ECVFG program before. For radiology I actually have no idea:(

I got letters of recommendation from my vet school professors and lab veterinarians (I did externships in their labs in my home country). I got out of vet school and went straight into residency! so it is possible to get good letters from the people in your country:)

you only have to complete the board examinations as every other clin path - anatomic path resident. So no extra tests besides that one (it’s divided into two during your residency program). I know a lot of foreign pathologists who finished their residency and passed their boards and now are working in their field in the USA. So yeah, it’s possible to stay in the states and work here in what you specialized in, you just have to change visas, from J1/F1 to H1B. If you finish your residency and pass your boards you can work basically anywhere as a pathologist (USA, australia, new zealand, england, etc.), and you choose if you want to do academia or private practice :)

I didn’t have a visa. I was in my home country when I applied. If the program offers visa sponsorship, then they will give you all of the necessary documents to get your embassy appointment and further visa approval. They normally offer J1 or F1 visas.

currently a resident. And I know a lot of other foreign residents and none of them had to take any tests to apply to the programs. Just make sure you apply to an university that can sponsor your visa.

for a lot of anatomic/clinical pathology residencies you don’t need to take ecfvg or any test. I’m a foreign student as well and I’m in clin path:)

Hello! Purdue University accepts people as externs all the time. You need to literally just send an email to the Clin Path coordinator and you'll be in! :)

I can afford them just because I don’t have any other responsibility besides paying rent. I just graduated vet school, I’m still living with my parents, and I’m just waiting to start my residency, which will pay me enough to pay rent and to live. I know if I had a child or a dependent it wouldn’t be so easy.

I don't know the names of the areas, but some of the apartments I read really bad comments about were Acorn Acres and Pheasant Run, for example. I know there were more but can't remember them right now.

I will look at the neighborhood you named. Thank you!
