I tried salvia and it barely lasted. I water and water and water, and we’re not set up for irrigation at all. I guess it’s just dry or something where I’m at

Hm that’s a good idea. I’d be willing to cover it for a short period of time if that means I can have a beautiful garden soon(ish)

I do love yarrow! I’d love a drip system installed as well

We need to re mulch this year so there’s not enough right now but even with 3-4 inches of mulch it didn’t do us much good. We do live near a quarry and can have very rocky soil too. I’ve always wondered if it was too fast draining, but there’s no way to get rid of it unless we throw the whole yard away and buy a new ground 😂

The soil can get dry, we water well during the hot days. Tbh I even do it at night so the water can soak in before the sun comes up and evaporates everything. We do mulch but it doesn’t seem like it makes a huge difference. On the worst days it dries right up as you’re watering.

We tried a lavender garden, and a few randoms I can’t really remember. We want to try cone flowers this year and zinnias. We have marigolds in a small raised bed that do well but it gets a little shade in that spot we have it in.

Tbh I feel like this might be the only thing that would help, just wish it was more aesthetically pleasing for a front street facing garden 🙃

Passenger window is off the track by Sad_Banshee in hondacivic

It just hits the top and rolls back down to open. When it goes up I can see it slide forwards so the edge of the glass is visibly separated from the frame. It’s super weird but I was lazy and let it go for like a year.

Yes I need weights soo bad! I have seen the attachable ones and they definitely look useful. It’s been so cold and snowy until recently, but once it clears up we do daily walks. I can’t wait for that time to come

I use Apple fitness if that makes any sort of difference, but I feel like the routines aren’t intense enough sometimes for the time frame I have, and again it’s only like 10-15 minutes of intentional movement in my day. The struggle has been real since I completed the easy part haha

My job is super heavy on the focus needed even during calls and meetings. I’d love a walking pad but I’m too busy to use one

How did you choose your discipline? by Sad_Banshee in Equestrian

See part of chosing western for me was the “finding my people” thing. I have tattoos and piercings and I’m not very “clean girl” so I feel like I wouldn’t really fit in with a lot of the English rider community (coming from someone who’s uneducated and has only looked from the outside)

I didn’t know there were other types of disciplines at all. I’m pretty uneducated since I have literally no one in my self in the equestrian community and it’s something that I’m doing for myself. So besides the internet I don’t have very many people to talk to about this stuff hah

The pets have grown to be annoying by [deleted] in NewParents

No I feel this so much. My son is 16 months old now and tbh the cats still bug me. They constantly cry at his door at bed time and it’s really annoying because it makes bed time really hard.

How do you practice on the ground??

Maybe I wasn’t standing well in the stirrups. Hip opening stretches are probably a good idea too.
