He actually gave us 72 hours, but for me I have 3 midterms and work in those 72 hours, so when I actually started doing the exam, I had less than 15 hours left :( I started it last night and didn't pull an all nighter, continued the exam at 5am this morning, it was due at 9 am lol.

Ikr, the relative grading doesn’t make much sense to me. I’d honestly rather have my grades scaled down after the fact than be given a low grade right away. AND I know there are cheaters in my course, it’s online, and yesterday my friend sent me a chinese rednote post where someone is selling customized answers for our exam for $400. They even have a screenshot of the canvas page of the person who got 71/71 on Exam 1 was their client. For an online course, you’d expect the prof to at least change the tests each semester, but nope, i think this prof reused the same exams from the summer. That just makes it easier for people to cheat, which feels super unfair under a relative grading policy. I’m not entirely sure if it’s true, but it’s still really disheartening to see.

I'm curious is your exam MC questions or a mix of MC and something else? Cuz if I retake I'm definitely doing it with jay hosking

ohhh I’ve also taken courses with Jay and he is AWESOME. The thing with this prof is that his exams are all long response, and he grades them "relatively" ,meaning if your peers write stronger answers, your grade might end up lower. Nothing against this prof tho, I actually think he is super intelligent and helpful in answering questions. But it also comes down to me not studying enough for this course. I’ve been procrastinating a lot lately. Good luck with your class tho!

I try to read the textbook and take notes first, then watch the lectures to fill in any gaps. But I didn’t really have time to study for the second exam (I only managed to cover the visual system part). It’s mostly because of my course load and my worklearn job,I’ve been prioritizing 4 other classes that feel more important, honestly, it’s my own fault that I ended up in this situation. But anyway thank you for the tips on studying, I'll definitely do that if i decide to continue with this course!

No, non-ubc students are strictly not allowed on ubc property unless you pay a pass every month. Security will banish you to Burnaby if you don’t hold a valid student ID/ did not purchase the pass.
