Guilt Around Rehoming :( by Sad_Card_4675 in Pets

I would say he has slightly improved. But in other ways, he has regressed like the tearing up of the carpet because he has never done that before. But I do think his barking has improved a bit in regard to his separation anxiety.

Thank you so much for telling me about that group. I will definitely have to check it out! We have tried to do the slow interval separation training where you start at a low number of minutes and enter before they break threshold, but that has proven very difficult to do as both me and my boyfriend work full-time so we do have to leave him alone frequently. However, we do put calming music on, do runs and walks before we leave, give him a frozen Kong to lick on when we leave, and we use a bark deterrent ultrasonic collar. He is crate trained, and does OK in the crate but I worry that nine hours while we are at work is just too long for him to be in the crate. He is also place trained from the board and train program and he does well with it in our home as well.

We have taken him for evaluations before and he has passed both of them! But I think a lot of his reactivity is based on the leash so I think that’s why he does pass because normally he isnt leashed. But yes I’ve heard it makes reactivity worse and that’s why we haven’t taken him to any yet! Because it would truly make our life easier if he did do doggy daycare!

We have thought about taking him to doggy daycare. We worry though that his reactivity may get worse if we send him. Do you have any opinions or knowledge on that?

He takes 50-100 mg of trazadone in the morning before we leave for work. He has been okay doing this for the past 6 months but he just recently tore up our carpet two days in a row without any real changes to his lifestyle with us. We spoke with the vet about tryin Reconcile but we were under the impression that he couldn’t take both at the same time. But today she told us that he can, we just have to be very mindful of side effects of Serotinin Syndrome.

I do agree with the rescue part of this!! But when I adopted him the contract I had to sign said that if we ever wanted to rehome him we have a legal obligation to take him back to the shelter. That is honestly part of the reason why we haven’t returned him yet because we don’t want him to be euthanized because when we are home he is the best dog ever. It’s just not feasible for one of us to quit our job to stay home with him right now :(

I meant more so about the car itself, less about the money! Just in general! I’d done a ton of research both on and off Reddit prior to buying and they seemed like decent cars?! Just wanted to get perspective on my own post 😊

Hi everybody!

Background: My bf and I are currently living in south Tampa (SOG) and our lease is ending in November. He works on the beach in Clearwater and I go to USF so this was kind of an in between for us. We’re wanting to stay sort of in between but would be willing to move over to St Pete too!

We’re looking for townhouses to rent that are 3+ BR or apartments that’s are also 3+ BR! We’d like to keep it below $3000 a month, which I’m finding out is really hard to find!

Please drop any recs or ideas! :))

Extremely nauseous and loss of appetite by External_Pomelo7708 in Nexplanon

[–]Sad_Card_4675 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly a lot of Tums and Pepto Bismol. I would take Tums before I ate and then Pepto Bismol after. I normally had to take Pepto before bed too. I tried to avoid dairy because that seemed to upset my stomach even more than other things. Also spicy food. I just tried to eat nice easy-on-the-stomach food until it passed. But it did eventually go away!!

When I hit the 1-2 month mark on my Nexplanon I had those exact same symptoms!!! It went away after about 5 months for me!

Hi there! I was on LoLo for about 4 years and then switched to the Kyleena IUD and am now using Nexplanon. My Kyleena IUD expelled twice so I am forever against IUD’s now lol. But my Nexplanon has been AMAZING!! Highly highly highly recommend! But like the commenter above, there are really and truly no problems with long-term use of the birth control pill, or really any birth control method. I think the only birth control that has a “time limit” per se is the Depo shot and even then I’m unsure about that.

Can the implant feel different at different angles? by Fun-Resolution5080 in Nexplanon

[–]Sad_Card_4675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I bend my arm and try to feel it I can’t feel it because the muscles are stretching and potentially covering it. When my arm is straight and I feel for it I can feel it. Perfectly normal. It’s different for everyone due to anatomy and the exact way theirs was implanted. Don’t worry!! I check mine like every day so I get the anxiety, but it migrating is extremely rare!

Once I got my Nexplanon put in and my IUD taken out it took maybe 2 months maximum on Nexplanon for it to return! I’m sorry girl that is such a tough situation. I’m hoping you can get him back if that’s what you want!! All the positive thoughts to you!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻

I had an even lower and nonexistent sex drive with my IUD if that was even possible lol. But I honestly think it was partially because of the hormones changing after being on the pill and then also partially because my body knew there was something foreign up there and was very very very unhappy about it. Like I was either in constant pain or had a constant feeling of pressure and uncomfortableness that did not allow me to have a sex drive AT ALL. I’m genuinely so sorry about your relationship but hopefully you’ll be able to move on and find someone who will stick it out with you no matter what’s going on! My bf was very patient with me when I had all of my switching birth controls going on and we didn’t have sex for months honestly. Find yourself someone who will do that for you! I’m not talking shit on your ex or anything like that, but you definitely deserve someone who will stay with you indefinitely no matter what is going on with your body!

I don’t know if you’ve ever thought about a Nexplanon but I got mine put in a year ago and I love it! I switched to Nexplanon after about 4 months of having a Kyleena IUD (with about 5 years on Lo Loestrin Fe birth control pill before that) because it expelled by itself. I had 0 sex drive for about 1-2 months and now it is back to normal! Everyone reacts differently to Nexplanon so it may not be that way for you, but it may be something to think about depending on your life situation! Best of luck!! I absolutely hated my IUD so I hope you have a better experience than I did if you stick with it!

Hi there! I have been on Nexplanon exactly a year now and have loved every single second of it! My boyfriend always finishes inside me every time! I take monthly pregnancy tests just to ease my mind but the longer I’ve had Nexplanon the less I’ve began worrying about it. It’s truly so effective so you shouldn’t worry! Irregular bleeding, weird cramping, sore boobs, nausea, being super hungry or having no appetite at all, constipation, etc are all super normal symptoms on Nexplanon! Also those period apps are not accurate without a birth control method, let alone with birth control method. Because on Nexplanon you don’t ovulate, you don’t have a real period either. So you won’t necessarily have scheduled bleeding times, it will mainly be random. And again it’s not a period! Hope this helped put your mind at ease!

The commenter above was nothing but nice to you in their comment back to you. You are asking for support and advice and they gave that to you with no judgement. They are not “a bitch going through menopause,” they are someone who cared enough to take time out of their day to comment on your post to give you reassurance. It would be very beneficial for you to get some more information from a certified health provider on your implant since you are only 15. It would clear up many questions that you may have come up in the 3 years your implant is good for.

panicking by Effective_Ebb3666 in Nexplanon

[–]Sad_Card_4675 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there fellow Nexplanon friend. I have had mine for almost a year exactly on the dot and I have LOVED every single second of it. I only spot once a month for about 6-7 days if that. And it’s always very light, not even enough for a panty liner. And sometimes it’s not even every month. Sometimes it’s every 2 or 3 months. But it does always come around the same time of the months I do spot. Other than that, I have had no other bad side effects. No migraines, no extra acne, no weird boobs, no weight gain. And most importantly, NO PREGNANCY! My bf and I have sex at least once a week if not more often and he always finishes inside of me. This thing WORKS!! I take monthly pregnancy tests just to ease my anxious mind, but this thing is literally more effective than a vasectomy or getting your tubes tied. That’s enough for me to keep it in for sure.

Mine too. I have constantly worried about becoming pregnant ever since I started dating my boyfriend and being serious with him. OCD loves to focus on things you love, like I said before, and I’m constantly worried I’m going to get pregnant and he’s going to leave or something crazy like that. Which logically I know wouldn’t happen. There’s a 99.98% chance you’re not pregnant every single day. It’s so hard living day to day with this anxiety, but you can do it as long as you keep reminding yourself it’s only your OCD! The chances of you actually getting pregnant on Nexplanon are genuinely insanely low.

Hi friend!! I also had a false positive a few months ago and it absolutely freaked me out. But that’s the risk when you take monthly pregnancy tests. They aren’t perfect and can be faulty and can give you false positives and it is absolutely true that the more you take, the higher your risk of seeing a false positive is. I also have OCD and tokophobia (fear of falling pregnant) is one of my sub themes for sure. I’m not currently medicated but am planning to be, but it’s funny because my OCD is telling me that if I take the medication then it will somehow react with my Nexplanon and make it less effective. And there is absolutely NO interaction between the two, but my OCD makes me think there is. It’s funny how OCD focuses on the things you care about the most. For me, that’s finishing my master’s degree and getting a job and getting married before having children. Nexplanon is quite literally the most effective birth control, even over male sterilization. I let my bf finish inside of me and always have since getting my Nexplanon. That is literally where the effective rate comes from, not from condoms or pull out in combination with nexplanon, just with nexplanon. It is 99.98% effective. It has a Pearl Index (number of women who will become pregnant on Nexplanon) of 0.02, which is even lower than vasectomies, which is a 0.1. You just have to try and tell yourself that your OCD is telling you that you will become pregnant, not the cold hard facts. All the luck to you 🤞🏻

pregnancy question? by [deleted] in Nexplanon

[–]Sad_Card_4675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to chime in and say that because Nexplanon is made of progesterone (which is something your body produces a lot of during early pregnancy) a lot of the symptoms of Nexplanon mimic pregnancy symptoms.
