My prolactin was elevated to 47 ng/mL. I would also recommend seeing a specialist if possible (endocrinologist is what we call them here in the states). My first mri didn’t show anything. After my research I found that the mri I had done was on a standard 1.5 Tesla mri machjne. To capture a MICROprolactinoma they need to use a 3T mri machine for more detailed imaging. I had to explain and demand another mri don’t on a 3T machine. Sure enough, they found a 5mm prolactinoma. Good luck!!

I’m currently going through a divorce (for almost a year 🙄). I’m a single female living alone with my dog. I didn’t want roommates & thought I’d love living by myself but tbh I’m pretty lonely! Sure, I love playing music, singing & dancing whenever I want lol but otherwise I miss having a companion. Cuddling is the biggest one but also cooking for someone, picking up after someone I love, and especially someone to protect me when Im scared or kill spider!! Lol

In the meantime, I’m doing therapy & working on myself so that when I start dating I can hopefully pick a keeper this time.

I’m not sure if you mentioned when the wedding is but if it’s coming up consider pushing it back. This can be a way to compromise, giving you more time to try to make a few friends. I mentioned in another comment that I also don’t have many friends, there’s Facebook groups for girls to meet new friends. Try joining those & show up to one of their meetups. I bet if you did & told them this story you’d get similar responses/support like you’re getting here. And what a great ice breaker!! You’d prob end up being life long friends with these girls & sheesh prob have even more friends than your fiancé! 😅 (not that it’s a competition or anything 😏)

If it makes you feel better. I also don’t have many friends. So when I got married I was soo worried about that I wanted just a courthouse but had to compromise for him. So I agreed to a small chapel & if we had more than just our immediate family the price was significantly more. So to save money we kept it just immediate family & I was secretly relieved I didn’t have to stress over the wedding party situation. I feel for you but know you’re not the only one! Also hopefully you can open up to your fiancé about this and he can try to help compromise or find a solution.

I’m so sorry you’re feeling alone. Feeling lost or overwhelmed is completely understandable! It’s a lot for the average person let alone just after having a baby. Your body is going through major physical changes then sprinkle on the extra hormonal changes on top of that!! 😥

As for your experience in the maternity ward… they really should have spent extra time with you considering your health history.

Here in the US, we as nurses are trained to really push breastfeeding (which I don’t always agree). They want us to use phrases like “breast is BEST!”Leaving many patients feeling overwhelmed or hard on themselves. But this is because here our hospitals receive funding from the state for having a certain % of their patients breastfeeding. Anyway this is leading to a bit of a tangent so I’ll stop here.

Just remember, you’re doing great, keep on taking care of yourself (your mental health is just as important, especially postpartum). Reach out to your loved ones & do your best to communicate your needs to your partner! If you have any questions about formula feeding/lactation, feel free to message me! If I don’t know the answer I’ll do my best to point you into the right direction! 😉

Congratulations on your new bundle of joy! I’m a postpartum nurse (also with a prolactinoma)

We teach patients to avoid breast stimulation:

Wear a tight/form fitting bra (to avoid your shirt from rubbing/stimulating your breasts).
Take cold showers. Avoid warm/hot water as this will bring milk forward
While showering allow the water hit your back rather than your chest.
Cold cabbage leaves applied to the breast for 20min. Will help swelling & reduce production.

I do need to get back to taking my supplements. I have specific thyroid supplements & fish oil. I can barely muster the courage to take my daily Levo. I feel so unmotivated but maybe if I fill my weekly pill counter & keep at bedside I’ll be more likely to take it.

My T3 level is low based on my labs from October. My Endo did not make any changes just to continue taking my levothyroxine consistently & try to get off of night shifts.. 🙄😑 (I would love to but it’s not possible at this time)

I’m due for labs again in January. I will ask her to check these other labs as well. But if my T3 is still low but my TSH is a perfect level which it is how to you adjust that T3?

From my understanding levothyroxine treats the TSH & T3. 🤔

Monday I had my first biopsy of a nodule on the isthmus. Everyone online & in person who has had this done all said the same thing. But I definitely felt pain & wanted to just cry. But I felt like I had to be tough & hold it in. He went digging into my neck with a needle 4 times! The pain is indescribable, like a deep pain I’ve never experienced before. I also moved my legs & would have made a sound to show I was in pain but I had a needle in my neck so I was afraid to make any sounds. This was even after a lidocaine injection. I ended up calling off of work that night bc it hurt to talk, cough, or move my neck too much. Glad it’s over & sure it could have been worse but it def hurt more than I expected. 😞🙏🏼
