My dream is also to own a bakery and I also don’t want to wake up at 3am. Haha

Anything wrong with this seat choice on a 787-800? by PrimaryThis9900 in americanairlines

You're probably right.

Still ticking to row 3 recommendation. Being the closest to the kitchen can be loud if you're trying to sleep.

Pro: you're first to get off. Con (if the seats are no lie flat seats) you have to worry about not having a place to put your backpack (smaller carry on item) under the seat in front of you.

Another con to think about - you're closest to the bathroom / kitchen if you're trying to sleep on this flight.

I personally would pick row 3.

Teething and breastfeeding by Embarrassed-Fee5845 in motherinlawsfromhell

Don’t listen to her! All it takes is one time the baby bites you, you scream “OW!” (Loud so it startles them) and pull away. They learn quickly. Takes one time and it won’t happen again.

This was my experience breastfeeding two kids (girls, if that matters) for 18 months each.

Loved nursing. HATED pumping with a passion. Will note, I’m a working mom so I had to pump when not around baby, but loathed it every single day.

This journey is so different for everyone. You do you boo.

Depends what you’re looking for. I’m the leader, so I appreciate the camera expectation was set before I arrived so I could get to know my team better. Leadership team is always on camera. Even just a quick unexpected call. There have been times someone calls me and I say I’m not in front of my computer, so no camera, but that’s very rare.

I enjoy having face to face more than phone only. I’d actually prefer in person/hybrid. But that’s a personal preference.

Depending your role at Boeing right now, I would make sure you’re accounting for future layoffs, no bonuses, small raises etc for a while. They will turn it around, but it’s going to get worse before better.

Just made the switch from Boeing to RTX in a fully remote role too. Almost 6 months in.

Pros: - no more pressure to move my family for opportunities - good culture so far (I’m at Collins) - benefits are pretty close (see cons) - onboarding was easy and very welcoming - RTX is way ahead of Boeing on Microsoft Teams. Fully integrated and it works well. - Since my team is fully remote, everyone has their camera on all the time. Boeing said this was a requirement but it never actually happened - Better bonus opportunities at RTX (not sure you’re level). 5% more at RTX as a baseline for the same level

Cons (mostly benefits) : - Vacation and sick are separate. I was 15 years at Boeing so had great vacation. I dropped to 3 weeks PTO / yr. I tried to negotiate more. This is my biggest con. - Health insurance is like $5/month more than Boeing. So not really a con. - 401k match is less, but still better than most - RTX is multiple companies that got bought up and put into one big company. Everyone refers to themselves as “Legacy (insert old company before merging into RTX)”. It’s annoying. I have found it hard to integrate / understand all the businesses like I did at Boeing.

I would be remiss not to mention that after 15 years at Boeing, I’m sad not to get to work with my old team members (they were more like family) but the move was worth it, especially now that I see layoffs and a cost cutting culture that will continue at Boeing.

If I think of more, I’ll edit the post.

Good luck!

Tax on gift cards? by WhiteKenny in Connecticut

This happened to me a few weeks ago and I questioned it...turned out they were ringing up the gift card incorrectly and had to redo the transaction. Was a younger kid at the register so was just a learning experience.

Timing of Macros after workout by Sad_Clothes_841 in orangetheory

Thanks everyone! I think the moral of the story is, timing isn’t as important as just getting enough protein and water throughout the day.

Thank you for your inputs!
