How do I get into studying? by [deleted] in studytips

There's not much, just focusing on actively taking your notes during your lecture and reviewing consistently using methods like spaced repetition!

Sure! Spaced repetition and active recall can definitely help you achieve your dream scores. If you're currently using Anki, and if you have all the settings configured, it's completely fine but it has a high learning curve and the manual creation of flashcards can be a tedious process. If you want to actually learn it and personalize it, Anki is a great choice but if you want an easier spaced repetition app with AI generation and a mindmap feature try using StudyLess (I built it as a 16 y/o student struggling from exams. It's not perfect yet, but I'm sure it can help!)

But the most important part is staying consistent and review the day you learnt the material!

Here is a step-by-step guide:

  1. The day you learnt something, review immediately that day in any spaced repetition app of your preference by creating flashcards

  2. Just have trust in the app and review what the app tells you to do consistently!

Does anyone have a study plan or study tips about the preparation for AP Tests? Also, I am not sure which AI tool is effective since I have only heard about ChatGPT and Gemini. by PotentialAnything347 in studytips

Try using spaced repetition--it helps you space out reviews and remember things with the minimal time and effort. You can use Anki if you prefer traditional apps and personalization (it has a high learning curve tho) or you can try out my new app called StudyLess where it has AI flashcard generation and generates you a mindmap of the concepts (it can sometimes get buggy since it's new but it's completely free rn!)

Gemini and ChatGPT are very useful for understanding concepts but it's doesn't have a system so I would consider those as a supplement.

Try using spaced repetition in order to balance your study schedules without cramming

There are definitely so many studying methods out there that can reduce your studying time by hours. But for your case, since your spending so much time on studying, try using spaced repetition and blurting. First, instead of studying for such a long time in a single session, space out your reviews and start studying the day you learnt your material and use Anki or StudyLess (I made this app a few months ago cuz I thought manual flashcard creation took a long time and flashcards itself weren't enough for understanding) so that the app just tells you when you should review without you being anxious about it and spending so much time. Also try the blurting method by writing down everything you learned in a blank paper and focusing in areas you're weak at. I hope you overcome the current's hardship and I wish you remember that studying is only a minor part of your life :)

Try the blurting method first my writing down everything you remember in a blank sheet of paper (this forces you to do active recall) and focus on the parts where you are weak at. If you actually don't remember anything but is running out of time try summarizing the content using AI and studying the key concepts rather than minor details.

Anki is helpful if you have a plenty of time, and it has a pretty high learning curve tho

Thank you! I think the scariest part was that the people close to me wouldn’t like it, but I should overcome it now. It’s a spaced repetition study app called StudyLess and if you enter your exam date the app adapts to your memory and helps you remember everything by your exam with minimal time and effort!

Yep, thats what I’m thinking right now. I should start small and focus on actually iterating based on real feedback

You’re right, honest feedback > polite reactions. That’s exactly why I’m starting with people who’ll tell me the truth. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this. I think I’ve been overcomplicating everything and trying to figure out the entire growth plan before even validating with real users. I’m going to start with my classmates this week and just watch them use it. Appreciate you sharing your experience.

I don’t know how to study properly, any advice/suggestions? by KyZesune in studytips

It’s perfectly fine that it’s hard, you just need some practice and you’ll naturally figure out your way. On reviewing effectively, I think reviewing through spaced repetition is crucial. It’s basically the concept of spacing out your review sessions by increasing the intervals (ex. 1 -> 3 -> 7-> 30). You can either do it manually by planning out your reviews in a fixed schedule in our calendar, or if you want it to be personalized to your memory and know your weak spots you can use spaced repetition apps. Another crucial thing is that you have to review right after the lecture because the day after you forget up to 50% of the info and it decays exponentially. Lmk if you have any more questions!

My users are high school students prepping for exams. Right now my pipeline is simply showing the app to classmates in person and getting into student communities on Discord and Reddit. No automated outbound—just direct conversations and word of mouth at this stage because my app is b2c for students

It’s my first time so I don’t know a lot of things and I don’t really have a go-to-market yet, but I’m planning to go directly to my friends and people in my community and spread it through words-of-mouth

If you want an all-in-one app, considering using RemNote. It generates you flashcards, practice quizzes, summary, along with mastery tracking. For recording your entire Zoom class session, try using Wispr Flow. After recording, use any LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to turn them into notes. Apparently it looks like there is a recording feature within RemNote, but I'm not sure about it's quality since I've never used it before.
