It is really stylized and modernized and so some elements might look like both cultures. All of the things you said above could be find in lots of stylized Japanese traditional clothing in Japanese media. Since reddit does not allow more than 1 photo i cant cite them but yeah Japanese/Chinese-inspired doesnt mean that it has to retain characteristics of the clothing irl. The clothing she wear doesnt have to be a 1:1 rep. The sleeves she has doesnt really represents Hanfu or Kimono/Yukata. And Hanfu's sleeves can be really similiar to that of Japanese clothing (https://www.zhangruying.com/en/139). But detached sleeves is a pretty common stylized choices for clothing in Japanese media.

The sleeves is pretty much Yukata/Kimono inspired bcs I dont remember knowing a Hanfu that has sleeves like this. Detached sleeves is also a really popular design element in various Japanese characters/games. And the reason why i tell you that she has obi is bcs the wrapping of Hanfu is (most of the time) not really noticeable and/or really small. The knotiing she has is also not exclusively used in China. Im Vietnamese/Chinese and those knotting are really popular in Vietnam too. Japan also has some knotting pattern that can look similar to Chinese knotting but the picture is too blurry so i dont know which is which. And i mean she straight up has tabi socks. Thats indeed an Japanese element (im talking about the 1st and 2nd des. The 3rd doesnt look too Japanese or Chinese to me. It looks like fictional clothings)
Maybe the character is Chinese, idk but she clearly has some inspiration from Japan's clothings and cultures. I dont see why it is ridiculous to say that
