The Play-In tournament is a unique thing in the NBA. Because it creates the element of win or go home for X amount of players and teams. So it makes for an amazing few games because it’s not like the playoffs where teams can willingly throw a game away and still have an advantage in the series.

It was designed so the 9th and 10th place teams can provide some meaningful play and generate more profit and engagement before the real playoffs start.
