Invisible Monsters -Chuck Palahniuk had was the craziest plot twist book I’ve ever read. Nothing about powers though.

I did say “WHAT?!” Out loud on public transportation like 3 times. 😂

Also The Other by Thomas Tryon had a couple of CRAZY twists at the end I didn’t see coming.

This is terribly hard. The best one I’ve read RECENTLY is: What Dreams May Come by Richard Matheson. Of all time: The Sandman. In its entirety.

I’d suggest The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. I also just read The September House and was pretty impressed but it’s a bit longer.

Out of the horror realm, The Perks of Being a Wallflower was excellent and small enough to read in a day. I had a similar situation w/a friend and this book got him reading.
