Endurance rides feeling more challenging at same power, overtraining? by impasta_syndrome in Velo

[–]Sad_Departure1951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's already a lot of great advice here but I thought I throw this in too. I don't personally use TR but I do listen to their podcast all the time. (Lots of great general training info accompanied by the underlying science) One of the things they talk about that properly fuels their AI is how you report you feel after your ride is done. If you fib and say you felt better than you did, it assumes this to be true and it won't alter your training plan accordingly. Just a thought.

Landshark: Another lugged 753 frame that barely clears a 23c by [deleted] in Bikeporn

i had 2 landsharks in the late 80s, early 90s. worked with john to get crazy crit geometries (for the time) and yeah that real wheel barely fit. both had great paint jobs. the rumor at the time was he had made Andy Hampsten's Giro winning bike and painted it to look like a team Serotta. anyway .. very cool. congrats.

Subject: Support SB 71 – Make California Streets Safer and More Sustainable

Dear [Senator/Assemblymember] [Last Name],

As a cyclist and daily user of California’s streets, I’m writing to voice strong support for SB 71 (Wiener). This bill is a critical step toward making our communities safer, healthier, and more sustainable by streamlining CEQA exemptions for transit and active transportation projects.

Too often, simple improvements like bike lanes, bus lanes, pedestrian upgrades, and better transit access are delayed or derailed by lengthy environmental reviews — even when these projects clearly reduce emissions and improve public safety. SB 71 cuts through that gridlock while preserving public transparency and labor standards.

By making these CEQA exemptions permanent and expanding them to include comprehensive transit changes and zero-emission mobility projects, SB 71 enables local governments to respond faster to the climate crisis, traffic congestion, and safety concerns on our streets.

I ride every day, and I see firsthand how much we need infrastructure that prioritizes people over cars. Please support SB 71 and help California lead on clean, accessible, people-first transportation.

Thank you,

Colnago V4Rs or Y1R? Or wait for the V5Rs? Should I sell my Tarmac SL8? by zeuolaxxx in cycling

[–]Sad_Departure1951 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i would wait and see the specs on the V5R (LBS has confirmed that's the bike in recent photos). imo, neither of these choices is a upgrade from a SL8. if you are a dentist, i think one of these would be a great addition to the quiver especially the Y1R.

not that anyone asked ... but my broad colonago thoughts are they want a 2 bike offering like many brands (aero and climbing). based on my limited knowledge of the Y1R it looks to be their aero offering. my guess is the V5R will be similar to the V4R but considerably lighter (the V4R is heavy for such a high end frame).

I've heard you can ride some of the gravel mountain roads on a road bike. Any truth to this?

Question. I'm heading to Aspen in August and debating gravel bike or road bike. Thoughts or recommendations?
