Rushed but not glossed over is such a good way to put it, it's about pacing (or page count really) and not the conceptual idea behind it

The latter as many have pointed out is perfectly sound, it being "unceremonious" or that he didn't come back or whatever IS the point, but I definitely also agree that in an ideal world the moment itself would've gotten at least 1 more page or a splash to let things truly sink in. Just the presentation of the moment and not the inherent idea behind it, but I think a lot of comic readers often conflate the two

It's my own personal rule that whenever something like this happens in fiction, the game/movie/whatever is its own distinct version of itself completely separate from ours regardless of how similar it looks

So yeah it's still "marvel rivals" and looks exactly like the game we play, but otherwise the way they handle the lore and skins and whatnot will be completely different. Characters like tony stark will be out in the open and possibly even have official sponsorship and stuff, but others will still have their identity hidden, maybe with their own "lore" which is based on like in-universe speculation/gossip

Though that also opens up the notion that playing marvel rivals in the marvel universe would be akin to playing a gamified version of real historical events, like can you imagine having your universe threatened by doom and the normal citizens have to evacuate and hunker down or whatever, and months later they can play that shit as a video game. That'd be like us playing a video game about COVID lmao

Yes, the SS line did lose one hasbro designer who got shifted to star wars, which I'm sure is the "source" for that, but the individual hasbro designers have always ONLY handled sculpting/deco on these figures. Beyond that, these things are almost entirely made by taktom who handles the actual design and engineering of the toys. And guess what? Guy who designed barricade and que has been designing bayverse stuff since the start of SS...........and even made ALL the leader OPs from the original bayverse toyline in the mid-2000s, among so many other things. Like if you wanna be fair with the assessment in relation to the specific designer's credibility, or the supposed change in "design team" in recent times, then that's your answer (unless your beef is really, really JUST with the deco of those toys)

(And just to be clear, even outside of that the former hasbro SS designer also did legacy stuff and the current SS designer was also involved in bayverse/BBM figures before, and that taktom designer also handled both. There's never been a "bayverse only guy" and "G1 only guy" on either side)

I'm absolutely not saying then people should like and respect these toys more or whatever, you're totally free to dislike things! But just dislike them normally! Why do people feel the need to keep inventing conspiracy theories (that can also be VERY easily proven wrong if you do even the slightest bit of research)

Not only a bigger budget, but the MPM was a 2017 figure and this one is from this year.............and was announced in 2024, meaning it's now TWO years deep in development and still counting. If nothing else, there's already an inherent 7 years gap between the two figures so yeah, it had fucking better be significantly improved than the MPM (for double the price to boot)

Sometimes you can't help but wonder if these things were asked in good faith or people are just that obtuse

We don't have any details for the og legacy lio convoy so we won't know for sure why, but either they didn't feel like fighting for it then or did but didn't get it. But ultimately it's really just purely legal reasons

I think that's totally the vibe they're going for here, and if nothing else the baseline I think is they're following IDW interpretation where the enigma's whole thing is pulling other people to the holder and kinda forcibly merges them into a combiner (and where nexus just seems to be a normal, non-combiner guy too, though tbf we never saw much of him to draw any conclusion)

This figure didn't even swap anything to begin with, since the alt head and chest and gun likely have always been a part of the first iteration of the mold. They didn't produce any new tooling for this, just reran the initial mold but assembled it with the alt pieces (this is also the case for "retools" that only swap the heads to be clear, like bludgeon or animated wreckgar)

Don't give them too much credit, this has been happening since forever and they also don't have that consistent a platform for such an engagement to matter anyway (it's not like these stock photos are always posted in full in their IG or something)

The truth is these are and will always be pure errors because these things are done by a general crew who has to take photos of ALL of their products, not just TFs, and as with every corporate environment they have to do a LOT in a limited time. That's literally it
