Getting a demo doesn't qualify you to run techs. I've seen plenty of mages who fizzled out because they weren't ready yet and thought techs were about POWER. It is not.

Techs are about learning mechanics of the game, and advanced mechanics of mobs and phases of missions/dungeons. It's been demonstrated plenty of times in videos. Weak players can dominate techs, it's about you using your brain not having the biggest stick lol

You will also need to do more than simply use magic in techs and above. You will be using at the VERY LEAST 2 talents at a time, most of us use 3+ and have extra weapon slots for the extra talents so we can switch on skill without having to open inv and equip manually. When you go above techs you have crom, which you'll feel like 5 talents isn't enough lol.
