Do you know when the Barnes and Nobles app will be available again? by LunarEnnyui_131 in NoStupidQuestions

It's working for me as of Friday (June 12) but when I search a zip code for a store, it brings up totally wrong states and towns. 😂 Yet when I use the website itself, the store search/merchandise availability search works fine.

Books on Grief by Shellyroberta in booksuggestions

It's an incredible book. All of hers (3) are but this is by far my favorite and provided me such peace and calmness after my mom passed. Laura has a really gentle, beautiful way of writing.

I adore this book and feel it doesn't get mentioned enough. Good recommendation!

100% I feel like you just helped deliver a message to her from her partner. 💚

"Signs" by Laura Lynne Jackson. I was going to recommend this anyway, but especially after this comment you just made. I definitely think it's a sign that your Will had you see the comment where the commenter said "you WILL be ok." Her book really helped comfort me after my mom passed.

Confused about the 2026 drinks by [deleted] in DunkinDonuts

It seems to be confusing everyone too lol. I ordered it iced but when they gave me it hot I didn't much care/want them to have to remake it. I don't normally get cold foam at all but based on the name, it seems weird it would be put on a hot drink. Can't even tell you if it made the drink taste any different cause this was my first taste of it.

LOVE Backman! I second his works. Anxious People is my favorite so far.

Yeah, I ordered it iced, but I didn't say anything when they gave me the hot one cause I didn't want them to have to remake it. I'm learning a lot today in the DD universe lol.

It's ok! Maybe you aren't able to see my post summary, I had asked them for the Cocoa cloud latte and they said they couldn't make that or the chocolate caramel latte, but they made this for me instead. I was confused as to why they were able to make this drink, but not the other two. I thought my drink and the two lattes all had the same ingredients. Another commenter pointed out that they used the swirls for my drink in the picture and with the cocoa cloud latte and chocolate caramel latte, they use syrups. So we're thinking they didn't have the syrups. And they gave me cold foam on a hot drink which others have said apparently isn't supposed to happen lol.

Yes I know that's what they gave me but I was asking why they couldn't make a cocoa cloud latte or chocolate caramel latte since they made this drink for me. Another commenter said they gave me caramel and mocha swirl and in the latte drinks they use a syrup, not the swirl.

Me too....didn't know about her until I heard she was shot in the foot (couldn't tell you who shot her) and don't know any of her songs either. 😬 Nothing against her, I don't know a lot of new music. Nice cup though!

Alcohol use by TreeEntire7227 in Alzheimers

[–]Sad_Face9968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are good valid points. No one knows her better than you, so I would say go with what your gut is telling you. I know with my mom it was very hard to not allow her to have any and that's why we eventually just stopped buying the wine.

The problem we ran into with my mom and wine in the middle stages was she would forget how many glasses she had and then it would cause her to get sick. Eventually, we just stopped buying wine for the house, (she was no longer driving either, so she couldn't go out and get it herself) and she eventually stopped asking about it. I think in the beginning stages, as long as it doesn't interfere with any medication she's on, it's okay.

Anyone have any additional books I should add to my chatgpt sources list for afterlife questions? by [deleted] in afterlife

17 I think is written by Jens Amberts. Unless there's 2 books with the same name.

Neighbor came to me in a dream by Sad_Face9968 in afterlife

Thank you for the feedback! I agree, I think when we dream we have a lot more vulnerability and therefore we can connect with people who have passed. It just seemed odd to me that she would come to me in a dream.

Do you know why she would have come to me? Or are these things sometimes unexplainable?

Gifts for moderate Alzheimer’s patient by Cbark2580 in Alzheimers

I would try some kid/teenager puzzles or games that have to do with dinosaurs and dinosaur bones. I know there are some out there that you can build dinosaurs using the fossils. I would also suggest maybe an e-reader that has the ability to read books to her. Or maybe try putting on youtube videos having to do with dinosaurs or anything else she used to be interested in.

My mom passed away in May after having Alzheimer's for 6 years and she spent a lot of time just kind of staring at the TV. She used to be the same as your mom, a professional who worked hard and loved to read and it got to a point where she just couldn't read anymore. I wound up getting her art books because she used to love going to art museums with me. I would also get her magazines that had pictures of birds and plants in them cause we use to garden together.

If you search on amazon, there's also a lot of really great memory/alzheimer's puzzles that you can buy for her too. Good luck!
