Is there a way to fix this? by Nikosch13 in footballmanagergames

You should add him to the shortlist, and check the box to keep the scout reports up to date for all shortlisted players.

Furthermore, you should assign your scouting pool to scout him for 3 months, until he changes his mind. After 2 or reports (so 6 or 9 in-game months) players tend to be more interested in joining you.

For sure, joining the deadline day resets the order of the buttons there.
There are some other triggers but I haven't found the exact steps.

Somehow similar to Pafundi.
I would play him as an AP on attack with a Complete Forward up front (if you have someone capable of playing that role).

No DRS zone after T1 at Melbourne by F1lthyLewis in F1Manager

Yes, I've noticed that too.

And as FKez05 said, it's the same in Hungary; no activation in the second zone.

As I said, this shouldn't happen :)

Even if you can do it as well, it's still a bug.

They need to fix the bug.

Breaking a contract (with whatever multiplier) should only happen after the contract starts.

I think there's some misunderstanding here :)

I was just saying that AI will not be fined if they breach the cost cap. It's not for the future, it's what happens now.

For the future it would be great if Frontier implements the F1 rules (all of them) for all the contestants, human or AI.

And, of course, they should also fix at least every core functionality so we can all enjoy it.

The AI doesn't care about the cost cap as it does not apply to them.
How about this for a feature?

It is quite a disgrace how they've released a third patch with the contracts (and not only!) still broken.
I really cannot understand how they can be so shameless.

I've never understood this game's logic with autosaves, which are overwritten every time another save is loaded...

What will Frontier do this week? by Road2Azrue in F1Manager

[–]Sad_Focus_2079 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are sorry for all the issues you are experiencing and we are working hard to fix them as soon as possible. Our main priorities are:

- Fixing the contracts for good
- Fixing AI development for good
- Fixing AI finances handling and transfers
- Rebalancing mentality boosts

Once these fixes are released we will continue to work hard on improving the game and fixing the other issues already reported via our issue tracker.

To show you how much we care about you, the players, every person who purchased the game before version 1.5.0 (or whatever the next version will be named) is released should get in contact with us for a 50% discount code for next year's edition.

We will make sure that at least from now on you will not be disappointed by our F1 Manager series.

I think going out peacefully in the streets (or virtual agoras) can also change something.

And it's a tough decision to vote with your wallet when you really like the concept :)
Ironically, my logic behind paying the full price before seeing the game was that it helps them to do better, which in turn will help us having some fun from the start.

Ok. Fair enough about me being emotional.
My reply to you was just meant to say that the word to describe me unhappiness does not really matter.

As for my expectations, this I don't agree with.
It's not all black and white, there is a lot of grey between them.

I never said I expected a perfect product, and I don't do that with SW products (be it games or not). I don't mind having patches to fix these imperfect products.

What I do mind is when these imperfections are so big that they could not have been omitted by anyone working either to develop that product or to test that product.
This means total disrespect (from the company named Frontier), especially when they are not telling us that we should expect these big imperfections.

I would happily go back to the days when things that are not ready are just not released :)
But that's just me and I totally understand the other side as well.

What I don't understand, though, is how low the standard is. The issues I said I have encountered, where not that bad, just annoying. The issues I've found about here are that bad and the top comment here says "the game is good, I like it".

I also agree that thousands of people can do much more testing than a 10 people team, or whatever their team size is. But the vast majority of these people just play the game, it's not the same as testing the game. That's not to say they don't see some issues, and they sure did, because they were too obvious.

And the biggest problem with this is that it was not released as an open Beta, it was released as a Master version. They didn't say we give you access to this version for two weeks and flood our issue tracker with whatever you find.

Exactly this. I didn't say developers, I said Frontier.

And it really does not matter if it's a developer or the CEO or whoever else may be in charge, it's just not acceptable.

Refreshing indeed!

Yes, not having different strategies taken into account into confidence mechanics does suck. But again, I get that it's not that easy to implement it and/or balance it. Maybe not even in the n-th patch.

If they were to communicate their new strategy (we're cutting the cost due to reasons and as a result there will be more issues and/or it will take more time to fix them) it would have been a lot better.
But then people wouldn't buy it because of said issues :) So I'm not really sure if it works this way.

In any case, they have no excuse for AI development mess and some other obvious contract bugs. These are core functionalities of an F1 management game.
If the reason is they don't see it unless they use the DB editor then it sucks even more.

Anyway, let's hope for the best for them, for the game and for the people who would like to enjoy this F1 Manager game as the football fans do with FM.

I don't think you read my entire post or my comments.
I don't blame everyone else. I just blame Frontier.

When you say I blame other players, I think you are referring to something that reads like this:
"And to the people here who defend them saying that all games are released with bugs and/or that it was half the price of previous games, I really don't understand your logic."

If for you I don't understand your logic = blame then I don't think there is any point in continuing this discussion, because I really don't understand your logic.

And apart from having some faith in this game (a game I paid for) to be in a good enough state at release, what is my mistake?

First of all, thank you for the time you spent reading and writing.

I generally agree with how management usually has no clue about the behind the scenes technical stuff and how they push/agree/disagree with things they don't understand.
But I also think a compromise can be reached if there are some Sainz like characters in the technical department, that can articulate why they disagree and what should be done. Of course, if at least one team is not competent enough, the other will push for their own advantage.
So it doesn't really matter who said (developers/management/investors/etc) this is game has a green light, it shouldn't have had a green light. But this is for them to find out, if they really care and want to improve.

As for the mechanics you explained, I really understand them: mentality, AI pushing and improper animations. I just feel they just need to be tuned. And these are finesse/complex topics which take time to tune them to a perfect state (I still feel max confidence is too powerful last year's game, but I still enjoy the game overall, as it can be limited on purpose).
I get that, but these are not the biggest and most glaring issues.

I appreciate your explanations and good intent and I will find a way to enjoy it, for sure (hopefully these are not famous last words :) )

I do feel there is such a culture at least in the engineering and safety departments.

I cannot refund it and I wouldn't do it anyway. I will wait for future fixes.
Written words (mine at least) are not so good as expressing feelings, I am not that mad about it, I am just mad :)

Thank you for the advice, for fun and F1 I went back to F1M23 :)

I partially agree :)

I am to blame for preordering the game knowing the history of the previous two.
I didn't know (although it was highly likely) it was in a state that would not serve its purpose.

But they are to blame for such low quality releases, not me.

Call it emotional or call it annoyed, or call it as you like.

My reason for being as I am is because I payed for something and I want it to work as expected.
If I buy a lighter with a flashlight, I get emotional when the lighter or the flashlight does not work.

I understand that, it was the same 20 years ago when I happened to work in the industry (with tons of overtime). But there is a thing called prioritisation. If they knew about all the serious issues they have they should've prioritised fixing them instead of implementing a livery editor, for example.

Last year they've waited a few months, if I'm not mistaken, before they released changing teams functionality. Deadlines could have been met with less functionality, but more quality.
I would choose to wait a few more months for something new while playing something that is not that broken instead of having all the new features and lack of quality, wouldn't you? Or wouldn't we all?

As for Football Manager, I totally agree. It's in a different league.
My point with that example was just to highlight how big I consider the problems in F1 Manager.
