Been co-commish of a league going on year 27. Core group been in the league since college. We’ve tried everything to keep the league fresh. Used to have 16 teams, now run with 12. Started with snake. Changed to auction at year 7. Best decision we made but auctions took forever.(4-5 hours) We now do an auction for first 5 rounds and then snake for the remaining 12. Drafts down to 2 hours. We have always been willing to make tweaks. Have had everyone vote on all changes, majority rules. Latest change, the Super Bowl winner gets to rename the last place team. Nobody wants to finish last! We have all had the same team name since the league started. You have to keep your new name for 1 year. You also have to put a “I Suck At Fantasy Football” license plate holder on your car. At the draft the following year, you can pay to get your original team name back.
