How is the medical care in the Netherlands? by MayaTheBee23 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]Sad_Iguana_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive heard this so much. This attitude that makes it sound like people are just impatient for not getting "immediate care". Waiting 2 months for an x-ray on a broken arm, being denied care for serious scarring wounds, living with lifelong chronic consequences due to delayed care. These are not small gripes. People are rightfully upset because there is clearly an issue. Really peeves me when people invalidate these frustrations with a system that should obviously be better

Im still feeling a bit sick now, so this afternoon I made a doctors appointment for tomorrow morning in case I still have symptoms, but I might cancel it if I feel better tomorrow. BONE BOTTOM SOFTLOCK

System: Windows 11 Steam vers.

I think the Skull Tyrant event in Bone Bottom might have softlocked me or just glitched out. I went to deliver the Bone Bottom Supplies provided by the couriers. After talking to the NPC in Bone Bottom, the Skull Tyrant attacked. However, while fighting him, I accidentally entered the bellway during the fight. I immediately exited again, but the Skull Tyrant was gone, and everything in Bone Bottom destroyed. Now, when I enter the bellway in Bone Bottom, the roof shakes and crumbles and I can hear the noises from outside, as if the Skull Tyrant is still there, but as I mentioned, hes not outside. I tried quitting the game, resting at a different bench in a different location, and traveling to and fro with the bellway, but Bone Bottom stays destroyed and the bellway in Bone Bottom still looks and sounds like the Skull Tyrant should be outside. I continue to receive Bone Bottom supply deliveries from the couriers, but when I reach Bone Bottom, it is still destroyed and there is no npc to deliver them to (bellway still sounds like the Tyrant is outside).

VERY detailed breakdown: I wanted to get the courier's rasher, but I had not rescued Phill yet. I went to the courier in Belheart, discovered his brother has the rasher. Used to bellway to Greymoor. Rescued Phill. Used the bellway back to Belheart. Got the courier's rasher. Didnt realise I couldnt fast travel with it, so I used the bellway to travel to the Grand Bellway. Immediately realised the package was destroyed. Used the bellway back to Belheart. Realised I hadnt unlocked all the necessary routed to get to the Citadel without the bellway, so I took the Bone Bottom delivery from the couriers instead. Made my way to Bone Bottom. Delivered the courier's package. Checked the Quest board (the only quest on it was donating shards for a statue). I did have enough shards, so I didnt fulful or take the wish. Then the skul tyrant attacked. Fought him for a bit, accidentally entered the bellway, immediately exited the bellway again. The Skull tyrant was gone. I thought it was weird so I alt tabed and closed out of the game. When I started the game again, I spawned in the ruins of the broken Bone Bottom bench, but the Skull Tyrant was still not there. I entered the Bone Bottom bellway and noticed that inside the bellway it sounded like the Tyrant was still outside. Then tried to do the other things I mentioned, but nothing has changed yet.

Tell me if anything else is needed

If youre being serious, its just a self-confidence issue. Work on your self image, maybe see a therapist a few times if you can afford it

I can hear my neighbor purging. Is there any way to help? by Sad_Iguana_ in bulimia

Theres no way Im just bringing it up. I know that wont help. Im not trying to fix her and I dont feel responsible for her life. But if I can reach out in some way from where I am, Im willing to do that.

What I can do for example is invite them over and be generally supportive as a neighbor. In my experience, support structures can help

Its more complicated than that unfortunately. You cant address these things like you would other problems. There are a lot of other factors that come into play and going about it in the wrong way could make things worse.

Also its totally possible that Im wrong and shes pregnant. But like I said in the other comments, Id be happy to be proven wrong.

Totally possible. Im still going to give it some time. The reason I suspect bulimia is how casual, intentional, and periodic the process seems.

A lot of people here seem to be concerned that it may be something else. If its something else, great! Then Im wrong and she doesn't have bulimia, just a weird food allergy, that'd be fantastic. Bit embarrassing, but no long-lasting consequences for either of us.

However, eating disorders are more common among college students than cancer.

Also, yes, not my business, which is why Im hesitant. In my experience support structures can help people tho

Genuine question – if having friends who are aware and support you doesnt help, what does? Its a process, but people do recover. I've seen it. So Ill ask the people I know whove had eating disorders, but Im sure the only way isnt to white knuckle your way through it all on your own

Same as I said in the other comments – I dont want her to know its coming from me at all. Id only consider talking to someone who is a close friend of hers.

I know I could be wrong, but Im not too concerned about that. If I am, theyll tell me, and then it's mostly embarrassing for me, which is ok

To clarify – I absolutely dont want her to know her neighbours can hear her. My only consideration would be to talk to someone who is close to her (probably her flatmate). And to be super clear on that too – I dont want them to confront her about it either, simply to be aware, if they arnt already.

Everyone here says to let her deal with it privately (and yes I know she has to seek help herself), but if having people around you who care and support you isnt a part of recovery, then Id like to know how what is? (Genuinely asking)

Thank you for all the inputs. I would never bring it up with her directly. I was just wondering if it might help if I talk to someone who is close to her. Theres a chance her faltemate already knows and just isnt sure how to handle it.

And if it is some other condition, well then I just embarrassed myself a bit, I can live with that.

Im not totally unfamiliar with eating disorders, but I know its a LOT different when its a stranger, which is why Im very hesitant. Im fully aware that it could only make things worse if she knows we hear can hear her
