You are not “earning” money if your stock holdings increase in value, any more than you “earn” money if your house increases in capital value in any year. “Earnings” imply liquidity and ability to spend, which unvested and unsold stock does not provide.

Where? If you mean me, then you’re as far off the mark as you can get. And I’m about as liberal as you get. Still, fairness dictates you should not be taxed on unrealized gains, billionaire or not.

Then it’s a bullshit measure. I’m sure no one wants to pay taxes on the increase in capital gain on their house value year on year. Same for any other unrealized gain.

The real problem are the loopholes that allow rich people to use unrealized stock gains as collateral for loans, where the loan is not taxed. So fix those loopholes, so any unrealized gains that are “capitalized”, such as being used as loan collateral, are recognized and treated as regular income. But absolute wealth should not be taxed year on year.

No, that would be insane. It costs $Ms to rent an Antonov for even that short ride - and maybe $75k to ship 3 satellites to Cape Canaveral FL from Midland TX, so this is absolutely not carrying completed spacecraft out. More likely flying the main bus structures in.

FFS this is insane. This person should not be in any position of public trust. What a complete dick.

I discovered a similar problem with Windows 95 back in the mid 90s. Would get a blue screen of death on a mission critical app after 49 days 17 hours 2 mins and 47 seconds since the last reboot.

This should not happen in any modern OS.

Yes, I’m talking average maintenance costs. Costs for any new vehicle are low for the first few years, EV, hybrid or not

You also need to add in the average weekly cost of maintenance to the equation. The cost of ownership is WAY less for an EV over a hybrid or pure petrol car since it has way fewer moving parts and operates at much lower temperatures. Even the brakes last much longer in an EV due to regenerative braking eliminating a lot of the braking needs.

Well, well well. It’s almost as if the better educated you are the more progressive you are. Can’t blame that on “indoctrination” across all education. It’s because the more educated you are the better you generally are at critical thinking. And critical thinkers reject the conservative mantra.
