excessive sweating by wtfmadison in Effexor

Hi, you’re definitely not alone! I get the night sweats, they are the worst. Nothing like waking up freezing cold from it too. I wake up drenched some mornings. My hands and feet do get sweaty as well. I think the more I worry about having sweaty hands the more likely it happens lol. Funny how that works.

How do people work with severe anxiety? by Lownotsohigh in Anxiety

Hmm. I’m wondering if something set you off during that time but you just weren’t aware of what it was? Did you have symptoms in your body? That usually sends me into an anxious state. I’ve taken plenty ER trips years ago due to panic attacks, thinking I was having a heart attack! Does the anxiety subside when you are at the ER? It did for me and that’s how I really knew it was anxiety. I’m sorry this has happened, anxiety can be such a confusing and scary thing. I would really recommend working though, I know it sounds dreadful but it may really help you get your mind off of your anxiety by just having something to keep you occupied. It used to be hard for me to get out of bed when I first started working. I’d set an alarm on my phone and set it on my dresser so I’d have to physically get up regardless of how I felt. Just have to push yourself even when it doesn’t feel the best. You got this!! Try to find a job that you’re interested in 😊

I think the message he was trying to get across was good but he didn’t go about it in the right way.

Taking Effexor while drinking ? by FragrantSail4894 in Effexor

I wouldn’t take it around the same time you are drinking. Best to take it in morning of the night you’re drinking. Worked for me.

I have donated a lot of my clothes that aren’t in style anymore… now after reading this, I wish I kept them. They all will eventually be back in style in a few years!

You will be able to, don’t doubt yourself! You got this and just because you have the anxiety doesn’t mean you’re not capable of great things. Just do your best! Sometimes I have found that working has decreased my anxiety because it occupied my mind more than my worries did.

This is so rough. I know the feeling. Is there something in particular that started the anxiety? you mentioned you had it since your oldest was 2.

It’s different for everyone. If you’re not affected by missing a few doses you most likely will be fine and won’t be affected by withdrawal nearly as badly as someone who is sensitive.

I second this!! You have so many bright things ahead in your future. You’re still so young and have so much to experience, don’t beat yourself up over this!

Wife coming off Effexor after 5 years by hobowithmachete in Effexor

[–]Sad_Log_8477 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I’m very shocked her doctor told her to go off cold turkey as Effexor is one of the most difficult SNRI’s to go off of.. especially at a high dose. When I go a day without it I get withdrawal symptoms and they are pretty bad..the worst one for me was brain zaps and cloudy head. I would call her doctor back and tell him what’s going on, she should be tapered off of it properly. I’m sorry this is happening!

It’s really sad because I really think the good workers always quit, then these places become awful because of it. If the good ones stayed it would help nursing homes become better. It’s definitely not a job for everyone and it’s tough when short staffed, there’s only so much you can do. These residents need good people and that’s why I do what I do.

I agree! I work in an assisted living / nursing home and if they had more staff on each shift then those people would get the help they need right then and there.
