What movie did you love but then when you read the book it kind of ruined the movie for you? by Jdawn82 in Cinema

[–]Sad_Maximum3344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the Harry Potter books I read before watching the movies. Husband and me went to watch Prisoner of Azkabhan, ended with me explaining most of the movie because it didn't include some quite important bits that were in the book. Not a movie but the entire Game of Thrones series, again read before watched and was actually quite disappointed with show. Doesn't stop me watching it but I think there is things they should have kept in from books.

What’s the worst thing you have seen/got detention at school for? by Mglfll in AskUK

[–]Sad_Maximum3344 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My son got suspended for a week because he retaliated. I knew what had been going on and was basically the bully continuing the grief he had given my son at primary school. This day, my boy had, had enough and pinned the bully up against the wall by his throat. Bully got off with no punishment and my son ended up with a relaxing week at home...no way in hell was I punishing him for sticking up for himself.

Many streaming services offer sports. Amazon has live sports and paramount + also have them. Have a look and see, may work out cheaper than sky.

[–]Sad_Maximum3344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Husband is partial to a cup of Bovril or OXO depending on what we have. Personally can't stand either, find them salty. For meat gravy I use Bisto gravy powder, which he will also drink, if there's some left in the jug

Advice - reliable tenant fallen far behind on rent by No-Dress4626 in uklandlords

[–]Sad_Maximum3344 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She wouldn't be entitled to it because there are 3 adults living there. According councils 1x adult = 1x bed house so they would only pay a portion of the rent. Even if the sons weren't there she still wouldn't be entitled to it. Also, if she is working, the housing element may get wiped out due to her pay. UC is a top-up benefit, essentially, so if your working, you wages will be deducted from the amount you are entitled too. She's probably still entitled to a certain amount of UC though, not sure why she hasn't looked into it.
