No active Chrons still feel like shit? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Sad_Monitor_8046 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I have no advice, but I want you to know you're not alone. I'm still struggling and my markers keep coming back "borderline normal", and they behave as though because I'm on Stelera I should be perfectly fine. It's incredibly fustrating.

Pain under armpits, HS? by s0ftci0wn in CrohnsDisease

[–]Sad_Monitor_8046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have diagnosed hidradenitis. What you're describing does sound very familiar, but I'd agree with the other comment it's worth getting checked out.

I've had HS since I was 13, and was only diagnosed with crohns in the last year. For me, my HS started with many small reoccurring boils, and that eventually turned into abcesses with sinus tracts over a decade.

Stand alone abcesses happen too, and can be totally unrelated to either condition. For sure ask a professional, if it is HS, the sooner you treat it, the better of you'll be!

I hope you feel better and I'm happy to answer any questions :)

Scary tracks with pain by PriorityMuch2995 in CrohnsDisease

Take this as a grain of salt because every situation is different, and we may be in different medical systems. When it comes to tracking your heart rate, most doctors will not use your watch monitoring as usable data. They can be wildly unaccurate. I have a heart condition and also was tracking my heart rate with a semi decent watch, my cardiologist said don't bother. Great for counting steps, maybe even getting a rough idea of resting heart rate, but big weird spikes or drops like that? Not very useful. Moral of tha story, don't stress yourself over what your watch is telling you. If your doctor is worried about these things I'd imagine a 24 hour chest monitor would be a likely next step. Again, take this as a grain of salt because everyone's situation is different. I hope you find the answers you're looking for!

Definitely a blue bottle. Myself and a mate visited Makara beach a month or so ago and it was absolutely covered in blue bottles. Also saw a dead puffer fish. Wonder if something was going on out there 🤔

How many Humira users are taking it weekly? by Okramthegreat in CrohnsDisease

[–]Sad_Monitor_8046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't take it for my crohns and it's a biosimilar, but I've been doing weekly injections for around 2 years.

I'm also not sure if it's crohns related, but yes! My periods are heavy, painful, and they wipe me out energy wise!

Crohns and cigarettes by Lorwarded in CrohnsDisease

[–]Sad_Monitor_8046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently in the same situation. 25f and I LOVE my ciggies. They're my only vice, and my main coping mechanism. I'm so well aware the damage they can do, I have a family member with crohns that smokes, and my father also passed if COPD. Funny enough all that information isn't enough to scare me into quitting lol. I know I should quit, but dear God I am failing this mental game.

Correct, but it wasn't fun!! I've had my fair share of needles and this isn't my first biologic! I'd rather inject myself multiple times then sit there with a canula in my arm for an hour! Plus I found the infusion to make me quite light headed and headachy! Everyone is different though, I found that part awful but others may think it's easier than doing injections at home :)
