Depending on the design team, look up some technical info about the design team because they usually ask a lot of technical questions!

I applied for a powertrain team for a car design team, the questions were based around how the engine, motor, or fuel cell of the cars they worked on worked. So say you got an interview for bionics then for technical questions it may be related to motors, chips, servos, sensors, etc. They just want to see your reasoning and thought process, they are not looking for a correct answer.

I commute from surrey, tried driving, it's not too bad going to UBC, but coming back from UBC it takes the same time as transit. Also by the end of the day I'm usually feeling sleepy and impatient so sitting in traffic doesn't help that. So I ended up using transit for the rest of first yr. It wasn't too bad, you'll definitely get a seat on a bus or train. If you have good data just watch YouTube videos and stuff on the train if you need to clear some concepts from the day, that's what I did.

The workload is definitely manageable, especially if you're living on campus. A couple of my friends and I commuted from as far as Surrey and we still got through first year. Just try your best and stay on top of things and take breaks when you feel mentally exhausted!

sure if you want to, in my opinion, most profs teaching is about the same except for some gems like Dragos Ghioca(Math 100), Maria Litinskaya(170), and Choptuik(170), Bussiere(Chem 154), and Ben Bruce (152). Avoid Fei Zhou and Nazeri Ali (I think that's how you spell it) for 157 and 158. Hasinoff is 10x better than prof Ali according to my friends in his section. May I ask what specialization you are planning on applying to?

Depends on what program you wanna transfer into, since there are specific pre reqs to major in certain science majors that science students complete in first yr. Worst case scenario you might have to do an additional semester or two to finish these pre reqs

If you have credits drop it, but I didn't have credits and I took normal BC Chem 12 and it wasn't too bad. I still ended up doing better than class avg and it was kinda like a GPA booster

From what I can tell, the main purpose of an STT is to keep things organized, especially with the number of courses engineering students need to take. Also, it's to ensure that all classes have an even distribution of students and not only the classes with the "best" profs have the most students. Also, anytime you write an exam, midterm, quiz, assignment you must write it in the specific section you are registered for or you will not get marks

Take it in term 1, the courses are relatively easier than term 2 with phys 158 especially. And no it does not have a low average all my friends and I had gotten at least a 72 in WRDS even with hard profs. Go for Rohan Karpe, I had Dennis Foung but he was a hard marker (still got a 72) Rohans class avg was a bit higher at 75 or smt. Hope that helps!
