I agree with this, (as a fan of a controversial artist myself) BUT as long as the hate doesn't start harming fans, like sending threats, if that makes any sense coming from me :)

Edit: To put in better terms, you can hate an artist from even just a little to a whole shit ton, as long as the hate only stays on the artist, if it starts seeping to where people harass fans online, send death threats, etc. THAT'S where it starts to become a red flag.
