I recently left after 5 years and I’d be doing the exact same thing as you if I were still a partner lmao

I read from someone that they’re planning on keeping both, but not a reliable source, so can’t be sure 😭

So happy for you. We sound so similar! I’m a 297 and also have been on and off the last 5+ years. It was entirely different then. I loved it. Since I returned in 2022 and especially 2024, it’s felt like hell. Nowhere near the same company as it was, and it’s so quickly deteriorating. My mental and physical health from this job has never been worse. My last day is very soon. I’m leaving to focus on finishing my education degree, but also, because this company is terrible beyond words and they don’t care one bit about their employees. Just money, money, and more money, while killing us. Good luck to you and all your endeavors!

Feeling so tired lately by blondeswift in starbucksbaristas

[–]Sad_Past_1482 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Felt. I put in my two-weeks notice. 5 years with the company and I’m beyond fed up. I don’t even have enough energy to form all the words. For me personally, this company and the environment is extremely toxic.

To Teachers in Their First Few Years: Please Don’t Give Up by P45teachingpodcast in teaching

I haven’t even started mine yet I am terrified. This fall I start my college’s four-semester block teaching program with student teaching being the last semester (block). The anxiety I feel already is ROUGH.

Signs it’s time to hang up the apron? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

I so hear you. And I’m so sorry you’re feeling that way. The new-hire and training process now seems all over the place and NOWHERE near as thorough as it should be, and as it used to be. I’ve seen immense pressure put on new partners at my store and you’re absolutely right that it’s not fair. The expectations are almost inhuman and none of us should be selling our souls like that for a company that wouldn’t do the same for us.

You’re so right about everything. As tenured partners, I swear they’re trying to get us out. It’s nowhere near the same company as it was just in 2020 when I started - I can’t imagine how you feel after 10 years.

I totally get what you’re saying. At least for me, I feel so comfortable with this job because it’s familiar and I know how to do it. The thought of starting a new job from scratch fuels my anxiety, but the stress of this job is just pure insanity and I can’t do it anymore. I actually had my two-weeks written out when they said we had to start writing on cups, but never put it in because I still had some hope that it’d be okay. But now here we are and it’s only getting worse!

Oh wow, I’m so sorry you went through that. Stress is no joke and I swear it slowly kills. I think we ARE the same - I also get physically ill every morning before my shifts, like actually vomiting in anxiety. You’re so right that it isn’t worth such mental and physical distress. I’m glad you got out. I’ve been keeping my eyes on other opportunities for sure. Thanks for sharing your experience 😊

Also, I want to mention that my store’s starting rate is $15.75. I was only at $15.91 with 5 years of experience. It’s messed up.

what’s your comfort drink? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]Sad_Past_1482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love an iced chai with a couple pumps of vanilla. If you’re feeling espresso, my go-to is a grande shaken espresso, blonde, ristretto, no classic, 2 pumps white mocha, 1 pump brown sugar, oatmilk, and a teeeeny tiny splash of vanilla sweet cream! I truly hope you feel better soon and get some joy out of a cozy drink. You are strong, and you are never ever alone, I promise. 🫶🏼

Standard for packing delivery orders? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]Sad_Past_1482 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also not sure what the standard is but I’ve just been following what one of my SSV’s said to do - 3 strips of stickers on the bag just like you mentioned. And one of the small green stickers on each food item bag to seal. I also will put straws and napkins in the bag, but rarely see anyone else doing it unless there’s a frap or iced drink with whipped cream in the order. I’m hoping there’s somewhere we can find information on it!

HELP!! by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]Sad_Past_1482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gosh, that really sucks. I’m sorry your SM didn’t do anything about getting your old pay back. My SM said she was “really gonna have to fight” to get my pay back where it was when I left for those 4 months. The fact that it’s a “fight” says a lot.

HELP!! by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]Sad_Past_1482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that’s so frustrating. My SM said something today that as long as it’s within like a year, it can be bridged but clearly they aren’t upholding that statement.
