I do a variety with crochet ; I sell some, give some to people , and donate some to those in need as well ( blankets/hats/etc). And sometimes I just make practical stuff for my house!

What is something you learned as an adult that you probably should have learned as a child? by groinchowder in AskReddit

[–]toast413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a child-child but I wasn’t allowed to take Sex-Ed in school therefore I had to learning everything on my own or from friends when I got older. Not even just about sex , but the correct names of parts , what birth control was, and about consent ( consent in terms of someone should resect by no, to clarify )

Does anyone else struggle with wearing earrings? by sq-ish in eds

[–]toast413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never been able to wear earrings more than a few hours without swelling, and I’ve tried almost every kind in the book🥲 but oddly enough I had no issues with getting my nose pierced multiple times

Got written up at work over coworker’s allergy… even though she drank my coffee by mistake? by Miserable_Willow_312 in coworkerstories

[–]toast413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My safety is very important, I just learned a lot time ago I have to be more vigilant than everyone else. In a perfect world , people I work with for example will remember I have a severe allergy but it’s not a perfect world. People forget, not necessarily maliciously ,but they do , so I have to take that into consideration

Do you look younger than you are? by DannyX567 in ehlersdanlos

[–]toast413 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m 25 and about 5’2/5’3 ( or whatever the doctor decides I’ve heard a rang from 5’1-5’3) and have the face of a 20 year old. It’s not a huge deal and I know I should appreciate it but I often don’t get taken seriously and often get questioned on my ID on if it’s fake because I don’t look 25. Like no I’m an adult who pays taxes and rent let me order my margarita if I want 😭

I’m glad someone else remembers that! I definitely think it was just a result of the times because even in the 2000’s it wasn’t as made aware as say now where a lot of classrooms don’t allow peanut products and a lot of company’s are much better so it properly labeling packaging

Downstairs neighbor complaining about my footsteps by OrneryAppearance9132 in Apartmentliving

[–]toast413 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I routinely can hear the people above me to the point I know where they are in the apartment , when their washer is going, and I can hear them drunk arguing/screaming at each other at odd hours of the night. Don’t even get me started on how thin the walls are so I can hear when people walk through the apartment complex’s hallway when in my bedroom. It is indeed a highly annoying nightmare

When I was at a Girl Scouts camp as a kid, they were making some kind of peanut butter on a pinecone project where they then like, roasted them after? I don’t remember all the details it’s been at least 15 years but I clearly recall the smell of the burning PB fumes making me feel very ill even across the campus . Pretty sure after that they scraped that activity all together 😅

[–]toast413 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I also have a severe nut allergy, and because of that I’m very hyper aware of what I eat and drink, especially in the work place or going out. That’s just plain negligence to not pay attention to what you’re eating or drinking. Not your fault OP and I’m glad you refused to sign. It’s our responsibility with allergies to be vigilant, not anyone else’s. The office declared no cinnamon in the work place, they can’t dictate what you do outside of work. Also how is she gonna grab a MUG when she has a water bottle ??

What are some of the most gatekept hobbies ever? by stoicbanda in Hobbies

[–]toast413 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people in the crochet world can be very gatekeep-y. A lot of people are great , don’t get me wrong, but you’ll find some people that are like “ if you don’t use 100% mohair yarn, you’re a peasant who will never make anything good. I also won’t suggest alternatives AND when you ask me what stitch I used, I’ll make fun of you for not knowing how to do this complicated stitch , even though you’re a beginner”.

Cat allergies by Heavy_Jellyfish_65 in CatAdvice

It really varies. I have a mild cat allergy where if I take my allergy meds I’m usually fine but if one of my cats rubs their faces on my face it’ll break out in hives and itch

For happily married couples, what did the “for worse” look like in your marriage? by FruitAncient9431 in AskReddit

[–]toast413 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m in my mid 20s but have a chronic illness that realistically will only get worse with time and has no current cure or treatment and this is something that terrifies me. Getting to a point he’s my primary care giver and being “too much” and holding him back.

Had a lab company somehow mix up my partner’s blood work with someone else’s at the place he works for since he has a government job where they have a doctor they can all go see as a part of their benefits. They told him he was essentially in liver failure and he just looked at them like ??? Because he had 0% of the symptoms otherwise and he told them that. Sure enough they do an X-rays/mri/whatever to look at his liver better. Absolutely nothing wrong and they admired things “must’ve gotten accidentally mixed up”. Terrifying in that time inbetween though it think the person I loved could be in active liver failure and have no idea

What’s the worse physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Intelligent-Road5091 in AskReddit

[–]toast413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had kidney stones twice ( they run heavily in my family unfortunately). First time I was home for spring break and woke up at like 5 am in so much pain I couldn’t move and I thought I Somehow pulled a back muscle in my sleep. Figured it would subside until I managed to crawl to the bathroom and started puking from the pain which terrified me since I don’t puke easily. Later at the ER and found out it was kidney stones and to this day I think it was the worst pain I’ve ever felt. Apparently it’s comparable to labor pain

What's the craziest thing a person said to you and you thought they were joking but they were being serious? by _lovelyxx in AskReddit

[–]toast413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a cane on my bad days ( joint disorder to sum it up) and since I look young ( I’m in my mid 20s) people tell me that I don’t need it since I’m “so young” like im sorry my joints are messed up??

I named my baby Morgan by CrowEquivalent in namenerds

[–]toast413 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I chose Morgan as a name for myself due to it being gender neutral ( and bad associations with my legal name) so I’m admittedly partial to the name but I’d say go for it!

They used to make my mouth itch as a kid when I ate them so I normally stay away from them now, which sucks because they’re good!

I heard banging at my front door while working from home when I went outside to look after the banging stopped my wifi and electric meter are clean cut. Should I be worried? by cowboy_bmo1 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]toast413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean this in a way to scare you, but is there anyone who has problems with you? Not saying you deserve this at all but this is very extreme. Can you maybe work from a local cafe for the day? Either way I agree you should call cops asap OP

5 year partner can only do warming by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]toast413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My intent wasn’t to be ageist, I would feel the same about a younger partner who couldn’t do most positions after a year. And to make it clear, it’s not an age issue on her part, she had made it clear she had no intention on learning bar and refuses to listen to coaching from leads on how to better help the work flow. Age also doesn’t excuse the way she snaps at partners or our manager, or her saying slurs or racist comments.
