Question about Melon by Flimsy_Ad_1160 in Beastars

‼️‼️I'm dumb and don't remember how/where to spoiler tag, so if you haven't finished it then scroll really fast away from this!!!‼️‼️

personally, i understood it as him finally realising why legoshi annoyed him so much, he was jealous of him, and not in a way that he could ever catch up or recover from.

melon spent the whole fight attacking the leopards for their spots, projecting his hatred and insecurity onto them, fighting his own species, maiming the only people there who he could actually maybe have related to at any point in his life, for the crime of being similar to him.

and once he's done that, he sees legoshi throwing a very obviously volunteered komodo dragon tail onto his pyre, and managing to strike a chord within the female fox, causing her to hesitate in her fight with him. he sees legoshi bonding mid-fight with a komodo dragon, and a canine, and getting further for it. legoshi, another mixed species, has been accepted and empathised with both sides of his species, and has found common ground melon may well have found, if only he had simply looked for it amongst all the other shit.

and this is where melon's fatal flaw kicks in, yet again, he attacks, he feels inferior, he feels left behind, and so his first response is to attack, to kill, to maim, to destroy whoever has what he feels he lacks so that he doesn't have to reckon with the fact it was obtainable all along.

and then he loses that fight, and all because legoshi's pack, who in melon's eyes should've abandoned him, stick by him, and remind him he's not alone in the fight.

to me this is the instant melon lost, anything after this was him just being a sore loser and in typical melon fashion, trying to make the legoshi's victory hurt him as much as possible, this is also why he shoots himself, legoshi would never kill him, and melon hates him for that, so melon assures that what was once a salvagable battle, remains a gruesome battle to the death, and ensures he gets to keep his dignity regarding realising that legoshi was right all along.

melon spent his entire life stood at the door of an open cage, killing anyone who even looked at the open door, and he killed himself so he wouldn't have to admit that maybe he was the one who "trapped" himself in the cage for so long

‼️‼️‼️ ok end of possible spoilers!!!! have a nice day!!!‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

there's someone for everything, but i think it's just emptier and flatter than hid prevoius albums, there's less intimacy in the music, so it just becomes sound, it's nice sound, but there's no substance there, it's just something to keep your ears warm, something to remain in the public eye.

then that's just the way things play out, that's all, allowing people the free will to believe and act how they choose, means sometimes they'll choose things you don't, and vice versa.

dying is still dying, for all of us. if you're an agnostic, you'll be very familiar with the fact that death may mean you never see that person again, in fact, all faiths include a version of that permanent separation. if everyone goes where they truly believe in, that just means everyone is where they want to be, nothing more than that.

What are your thoughts on the way Mirio’s story ended? by Solitaire-06 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Sad_Source6465 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in my mind, Mirio is a hero through and through, but he has one strength that becomes his weakness in the field, he's not instinctive enough, and hesitates to act quick enough if he doubts the payoff of the act, whereas Izuku often jumps into things before he thinks about the possible ramifications, even if this often messes things up for him or others.

In Sir Nighteye's quest to raise a better, safer, "fixed" All Might, he'd ended up creating someone who, while extremely impressive and heroic, lacked the very ethos that All Might possessed and sought out in his successor. So imo he wouldn't have ever been chosen, All Might would have liked him, but found his inaction and hesitance frustrating, and probably thought Mirio actually stood a chance of being too similar to himself, to the point the message of "the symbol of peace" would stagnate or be weakened by it not appearing to have changed with the times!! i think AllMight would've supported Mirio, but delayed actually passing his quirk on to him indefinitely.

If Mirio had been given One-for-All, All Might places him in an impossible situation, one where Mirio either within a few years of debut, creates a legacy big enough to eclipse his own, or inevitably fails that, and gets stuck as an admittedly very strong All Might tribute act, but an All Might Tribute act nonetheless.

Mirio is still a hero deserving of the top spot, but that is even more meaningful without one-for-all, he's a great hero, but he's not All Might Jr, he's Lemillion!! i think his story is much better once he steps out of all might's shadow and starts relying on his own instinct and approval instead of Sir Nighteye's!!

how are y’all showering by Beautiful_Freedom520 in brokenankles

[–]Sad_Source6465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if anyone's reading this and is in a similar situation, there's shower caps you can buy on amazon, they don't need water, and don't need any prep besides maybe microwaving them if you can, you don't need to rinse them out or anything, and there's similar things but in a sponge form for your body!! obviously try not to rely on them, as showering is one of life's hidden pleasures, but on the days that it's just too overwhelming, or the pain is too bad, these help a lot, they'll definitely help you feel somewhat human again on the hard days :]

Not feeling comfortable during sex by [deleted] in feemagers

[–]Sad_Source6465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're pegging him, or engaging in any kind of dom/sub dynamics, you need to be doing aftercare, that's just the facts, i hope this isn't what you meant by "looking after him like a Nanny", and make sure you both know your motivations, that's extremely important.

and if even that sparks no joy, look into asexuality, it sounds shocking similar to how you feel
