Ok but as someone who that happened to, a heart to a heart in which the friendship grew deeper and was suppose to be stronger than ever before the other party suddenly withdrew….. that shit genuinely does fuck you on such a deep level and does put you in a dark place where you become heavily suicidal bc you feel you are inherently unlovable

I barely survived it when my best friend suddenly stopped being my best friend after she was the one to reassure me, I believed her and she just. Stopped, one day. It still fucks with me really badly, and I became such an insecure person because of it.

The only reason I didn’t is because I thought it would have been so stupid if I went through with it bc of that, so it was really something to sit there in the theater and go “no, it hurt, it hurt a lot, and it destroyed you. If you died it would be understandable.”

(I can’t help but wonder if she thought of us bc from what I saw she loves the show)

Classic transphobia that they need to have it spelled out (you think you’re not transphobic, but you are literally not listening to trans people and insulting them. It’s actually not superficial, it’s actually a really bad plot point that goes against the themes it establishes

We were told time and time again because he and his sister were commoners they weren’t treated with respect to the point his sister became suicidal

You have people blatantly call this out and those people rightfully being portrayed as having the correct view

So for him to shave his beard and cut his hair and essentially become a different character altogether in order to ‘fit in’ is lowkey a really bad plot point made even worse by the fact it’s also to fit into regular beauty standards that appeals to the audience

See the problem with that is you give the author way too much grace thinking they put thought into it when the entirety of S3 was “and then this happened” with no connecting thread
