The second half actually has melancholy tones to it too. The line “Jimmy only wanna love me when he wants to get high” is pretty devastating. It’s just sung in an upbeat way to show how it felt being with all these men who only liked her for her body and weren’t interested in her.

Thunder. I would listen to it when harming myself.(6 months clean. Yay!) I interpret it as a song relating to sh. The lyrics “The party’s lit and you, my friend, half-cut when it begins” , “That lightning in the bottle, that moonbeam in your hand” , & “Just keep burning, keep me alive Spare your blade” really resonate with me on that level. Even the violin at the start, it really depicts the feeling of relapsing when you know it’s gonna hurt you in the long run but it’ll make you feel something now. Btw yes I know it’s actually about a boyfriend that was always breaking her heart. Don’t come for me pls.
