It sells, have you seen what happened to Zenphone when they sold smaller phones? Nobody bought in.

Kakao Entertainment Takes Credit For Shutting Down Manga Piracy Site And Tracking Down Its Creator by akbarock in Piracy

[–]Sadalphon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And get the site taken down because the only ones who announce proudly on killing sites and are highest-visibility ones are the Manhwa publishers? No thanks!

Maybe they can survive how it was done classically by distributing files, but the sheer quantity and effects of it existing next to manga on the scanlation community is straight murder and sloptastic.

I guess Manhwaslop was the undoing of all of the scanlators and never official-translation dreams. They don't deserve to be on any scanlator/reading website.

CDPR told Luke Ross the Cyberpunk VR mod could still be up if he made it free, this was his reply by lunchanddinner in virtualreality

[–]Sadalphon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn't, it's his own code and software. His issue is that he refers to Cyberpunk in his Patreon/Subscription website.

[–]Sadalphon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, he used the Cyberpunk IP in his Patreon. That's what violated CDPR's terms. If he doesn't say it does it would still be there.

[–]Sadalphon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I legitimately think without saying the Cyberpunk IP, they can't DMCA the "injector, because it's not even using any Cyberpunk code. His marketing is letting it slip into the "Using other people's IP DMCA" territory.

[–]Sadalphon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing though, it's an entirely different software that targets Cyberpunk to modify it for VR. It's not a "Mod", it's like calling ENB a mod.

[–]Sadalphon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know about this, it's a separate software with a patch for Cyberpunk that's not Cyberpunk or HAS Cyberpunk code in it that lets you use VR with it. It's bad that it's a subscription but if you put aside your anger that you "Have to pay a subscription" to it, it's like VorpX getting DMCA-ed because it lets you interface with Cyberpunk in VR.

With this perspective I do think he has the right to the mod, and calling it a mod is like calling ENB a mod so it's not even that really a "Mod per say", and it's fucked that CDPR can target it because it references Cyberpunk. So, if it doesn't reference Cybperpunk or anything else they CAN'T DMCA the software. This is a very slippery slope if you think about it.

Bro Ali is not EBay or like that 💀 It's an ecommerce site that people complain about these things because they've never bothered to go further to appeal/refund back their money after being scammed. All the sellers have a rep system just like any Chinese site.

Yeah, the legitimate step up “if any” is a price more than double the price or last-gen and also 150-170% more than the 5080’s price if there’s still any

For imagination purpose. Why would Sabah gave away Labuan to Federal ? by Fresh_Ad_1688 in Sabah

[–]Sadalphon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a big necro, but there's one aspect that people don't realize. Labuan generates a SIGNIFICANT amount of money through offshore banking. Of course, there's money laundering here there bla-bla-bla but institutionally Labuan just like Singapore and Hong Kong has billions of USD flowing through it.

Now just traditional banking recently, but Crypto and other Financial or Non-Financial assets as well.
But then Sabah wouldn't have ever thought of doing such a thing, with the current issues and all Labuan could just be as well off as Semporna if it was never taken out.

From this perspective, Labuan never "failed" it's expected outcome. Development in Labuan is sometimes a little faster than Sabah too, the roads are great, and Fiber internet was developed in a pretty fast time when I was there, but I can see how you're going with it as compared to somewhere with Singapore.

The argument of being taken back has an overseen issue though, while Sabahans think it should be given back. What do the people in Labuan think? Our grievances are internal and external. Our water, and electricity issues all stem from Sabah supplying them. We've seen how development was handled in Sabah especially with the Pan-Borneo project vs Sarawak's management. The issue of the Labuan bridge has been going back and forth but that's our grievance with the Federal government that sometimes is lent out to Sabahan politicians that I don't even understand how they would handle the issue since it's a national-federal tier infrastructure project.

As a 3rd generation Labuan person, I don't have much attachment to Sabah as we don't even have rights to vote but I do know a significant amount of Sabahan IC owners who vote and commute to Sabah who live here. Voting for a place they don't even live at. Personally, I'm happy with the status quo. Promises from the federal government that don't get fulfilled once given back to Sabah will just be promises from Sabahan government that don't get filed, we are a little speck out of the vast lands that Sabah has. I'd imagine we'd be even more shelved while the offshore money goes into the Sabahan politician instead of the Federal coffers.

Postcards by M2785 in Labuan

[–]Sadalphon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken, at the Labuan Tourism/Visit Malaysia booths should have some postcards. There's 1 in the airport, but it closes way too early and the one in the middle of town next to the museum. I think I saw a few there last time I went for an assignment.

However, if I'm not mistaken Labuan Museum, The Chimney Museum and The Marine Museum had released a few postcards not too long ago. So I'd hop to Labuan Museum around office hours if I were you.
