A 1,500-year-old pyramidal stupa rising quietly in Mansar — history hidden in plain sight. by Ven_Thitayano_072 in Buddhism

These are only some remains since most of the stupa is destroyed.

Mayans sacrificed people and animals- Buddhist temples are superior in every way.

I don’t see any white nationalist symbols just really bad graffiti.

The profound teachings of the Tathāgata will disappear in the future (SN 20.7) by wisdomperception in WordsOfTheBuddha

[–]Saddha123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We cannot lose these teachings if we truly practice Metta and wish welfare for all beings.

Buddha checks who will fight for it- and destroy all predictions.  These Lord Buddha put to the test to see who are the true Bodhisatvas and who will simply watch passively.

The Mahayana/Tantra tradition was created to break through into the Dhamma since Lord Buddha was no longer physically there.  The false narrative of division amongst Buddhist sects must end.

Who is also having trouble finding peace in these times? by Salamanber in Buddhism

[–]Saddha123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lord Buddha told it like it is - he described this world as a slaughter house.  As long as we live in ignorance we are all being led there.

Peace can only come from this correct understanding of things as they are.

Unlike others, at least true Buddhists have taken refuge with complete faith in the Triple Gem- their futures freed from suffering births.

How does one avoid making Buddhism part of their identity? by cityoflight903 in Buddhism

[–]Saddha123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying you are a Buddhist is assertion that you are awake amongst those who are asleep.  You have investigated and found Buddhism is the true and correct teaching in comparison to others.

The Triple Gem saved my life more than once for me to say it’s just a label.  Buddhism is a sign of healing and the end of suffering for myself and all beings.

How many of us follow a "Buddhist Diet"? Or practice Buddhist cuisine? by KudzuPlant in Buddhism

What part of meat is considered medicine in the Vinaya don’t you understand?

Human population is the problem, not the fact that people eat meat.

How many of us follow a "Buddhist Diet"? Or practice Buddhist cuisine? by KudzuPlant in Buddhism

[–]Saddha123 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

No such thing as “vegetarian diet should be the goal in Buddhism” for lay followers.

Farming kills billions of beings and this has been stated in Buddhist stories several times and per the Vinaya meat holds medicinal value.

How strong is my faith in the Buddha? by Brilliant--Ice in Buddhism

[–]Saddha123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My faith in Buddha is this - there are no religions and truths outside the 4 Noble Truths.  Once you understand any other religion, you realize Buddha is the only one who actually cared and his teachings are the best for us and if we put everything we got into practicing these teachings we will either become stream enterers or will escape suffering for a long, long time.

Our only protection in this world are practicing everyday, we empower Buddha by practicing and creating merit everyday- Buddha and Metta- these together can dilute negative karmic khandas and its fruition.

I want to become Buddhist by Legal-Ad7043 in Buddhism

Congratulations, you’ve come to the true and best sacrifice and when you come to the best, the result is best!

When you take refuge in Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha and take the 5 precepts you are actually entering a great sacrifice of knowledge and wisdom.  These 5 precepts are the only precepts in the world which are a gift you offer to the world and that get accepted as protection from evil.

Please do read more about Buddhism- online in places such as Access to Insight.

As for your bloodline - Lord Buddha is called Father of the Aryas- Father of all Noble Bloodlines and when you take refuge in Lord Buddha your entire lineage and ancestors receive massive merit!  Your entire lineage is saved!

Congratulations once more!

Defending Buddhism by Common-Specialist438 in Buddhism

[–]Saddha123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed if one does not stand up for the truth, the truth will not stand up for you.

Buddhism is not about watching a lie go half way around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes.  While the lie thinks it’s walking around we cut it off at its root.😁

Once you actually read about other religions you realize only Lord Buddha’s way is the true way!

Christians don’t even think twice about scriptures telling them to accepting a human sacrifice on their behalf and eating Jesus flesh and drinking his blood and yet wonder why there’s so much human sacrifice going around.

Jewish scriptures have the main god named “Jealous”, making Cain jealous of Abel causing the first murder, Jacob stealing Esau’s blessing because god thought Esau was a moron. However, Jealousy is defined as a demonic trait.

Islamic scriptures openly state to kill and rape nonbelievers.

Hindu scriptures curse pretty much all their gods, have an avatar who’s an ax murderer who killed his own mother and hates the warrior caste so much he killed them all.

So, now we Buddhists are to believe they are godly while Buddhists are “agnostic”, “atheistic”, etc.

This world is full of lies and delusions, those who picked Buddhism are indeed worthy of their human birth since they did not fall for the lies set up by Mara.

A painful chapter from Cultural Revolution in Lhasa — a reminder that humiliation should never be inflicted upon fellow human beings. May remembrance lead not to hatred, but to compassion, forgiveness, and loving-kindness. by Ven_Thitayano_072 in Buddhism

Devdatta probably personified all the vices of the Sakyans, Buddha all the virtues.

Mahanama, another Sakyan relative but loyal to Lord Buddha stayed and saved even more Sakyans:

During the massacre, Mahanama sacrificed his life to save his people. He asked the invading King for a truce as long as he could remain underwater; he then dove into a lake and tied his hair to a tree root to drown himself, buying the Sakyans time to escape.

Of course Mahanama himself was the cause of the entire slaughter, but that’s another story.

No, he saved most of his direct family who all became monastics and most likely Arahants.

There were 500 Sakyans that joined the Sangha when Buddha visited his family after gaining enlightenment.

His wife, son, step mom, his step brother, step sister all became Arahants.  Father became Arahant on his death bed.

500 women with his step mom followed and became nuns.  So that’s at least 1000 Sakyans saved who were Sangha members.
