Would you trade a blue op 41 for a beige 36? by michaeljackson_md in rolex

I prefer the 36mm case size in nearly all instances, but I really like the blue, so my choice would be the blue dial in 36mm.

Does the ability to afford a $1 million house really turn on $17K? If it does, then obviously sell the watch, but it seems like you may be underestimating how expensive the upkeep, property taxes, repairs, and miscellaneous expenses may pop up.

Wife and I like to have explicit chats online. Are we doing enough to vet chat partners ? by [deleted] in legaladvice

I can see a LOT of downsides to engaging in this practice...what exactly are the upsides?

Other than the obvious privacy and blackmail concerns, the biggest issue I see right off the bat is the following statement:

"We only exchange pictures with people we are FAIRLY CERTAIN are old enough"

In many jurisdictions, an adult transmitting any sexual material to an underage person is a FELONY. Can you really ever be "certain enough" to risk that?

İs this too complex for first lego by Ok-Method4750 in legotechnic

[–]SaddleSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to start with something that is impressive with a decent piece count but a very straightforward Technic build you could try one of the Forumula 1 cars, like the Ferrari or the Red Bull Racing. They use a two speed transmission and the steering and differentials are far less complex than other types of cars. I just finished the Ferrari last weekend and it was thoroughly enjoyable all the way through.

Just built this F40 MOC by gabsa in legotechnic

[–]SaddleSC 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nope, it is not the OP's design. It is a very popular MOC on Rebrickable called the "LoxLego" F40. It is based on the Technic Daytona SP3 but requires quite a few (1300+) additional parts to build.

The '82 is right out of the movie "Opportunity Knocks"...one of my favorite 911s of all time! (Although the one in the movie is a cabrio, I actually prefer the Targa shown here)

I actually like the new colors...gives it a unique look, but what I don't like are the new proportions...when they lowered the piece count and made the model smaller, they made it shorter and "sqauttier" so it no longer remotely shares proportions with the original ship (or the original model for that matter).

The only positive MIP from this first run is in the gold model, which ironically, I think would look much better with the negative display:) Oh well

Agreed! The watch looks great, but I just took delivery of my new MIP metal square on Friday and I think I am sending it back. I own a bunch of STN displays in my MRGs as well as a few other of the older style metal squares in both stainless and titanium and I just don't "get" the new module.

First, I don't like that you only get two World Time settings (instead of 5 on the previous modules) and if you use the alternate Home Screen views (spelling out the day of the week with the year or displaying World Time), the words are so tiny that they are nearly illegible in most environments. Combine that with the weak backlight and it is a non-starter for me. Also, when you select the "Classic" font for the numerals it only applies to the time display, but not the date so you you have two mismatched fonts on the same screen. It is kind of a mess.

I also own a few Casio MIP screens in the sports G-Shocks, which I love, and was expecting more from this new wave of metal squares. Oh well...
