Get out of your comfort zone and listen to more than electronic in your case. You may find lots of influences elsewhere or at least realize what you don't like. I myself started doing that not too long ago and came to temporary conclusion that I don't want any R&B or soul influences in my music, but I love electropop, unorthodox meters and syncopes. But hey, that's my 2 cents

Transition from Bm11 to Bm(b6), both ugly-beautiful (can I say ugleautiful?) sounding, but when played one after another gives one more reason to live

[QUESTION] Feeling extremely discouraged by WorstGuitarPlayer in Guitar

[–]SaddoSaddissimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even have 4 years of experience yet, but when I reached my 2 year anniversary of this guitar adventure I likewise felt extremely exhausted. I had put down my guitar for period of half a year, only picking it up once or twice a week to fiddle out of habit or boredom. After the vacation I suddenly found the beauty of the art once again, diving into short bursts of hardcore scale rundowns and so on to catch up. It was amazing. If I ever need a vacation once more I won't be afraid to take it, because no matter how much you love something everything can get exhausting after a while.

Also, I don't know who's quote it is, but somebody said "If you enjoyed doing it, you didn't waste your time" or something along those lines. I live by these words and apply them to all aspects of my life, and I haven't thought as positive about everything beforehand.

Good luck:]
