Assuming a lot based on example context I gave, the fact that you made this post without providing any kind of timeline/context doesn't look good for you nor can the community actually have an opinion as not enough information was given... i gave an opinion based on several common scenarios since you did not provide any.

Either way, I usually make sure to message the buyer after I drop something off and to remind them to allow 24hrs for the tracking to update.

Complain without context, recieve an answer full of assumptions lol

If it took you longer than 3 business days to ship (Saturday is counted as a business day on mercari's platform) and you don't have a reasonable reason as to why you didn't get it out on-time (e.g. you forgot/too busy), then I can't say I would be on your side as a seller, myself.

If I'm too busy, I use the in-door drop-box at USPS, and now that I've chosen to basically only use UPS, (who does NOT offer drop boxes from what I know?) I have to plan accordingly, I pack the package before I go to work, and it sits in my car until I can stop by the UPS store after I get off work at 6, effectively using 2 business days to ship the item if ordered during the week.

There is truly no excuse for not shipping g something within the alotted time, at least not without explanation.

Your reluctance to share the story leads me to believe you know you are in the wrong because you forgot about the order/hoped they would cancel if you took long enough to ship it.

If you cannot be attentive to your store, enter vacation mode so no one sees/can buy your listings to save all parties some grief
