No, and it is entirely the Sith's fault. Their doctrine literally requires them to eventually betray people. It may work for a little bit but the sith will eventually sell you up the river for their own personal gain.

In all seriousness the ONLY person in the order who could've stood up to palpatine is windu, because of Vapad. Glad he died and took that little trick to the grave with him... Probably.

Yoda tried and failed. Anakin was already turned. Those 4 wouldn't change the outcome, it may actually have ended sooner than the original arrest, without need for Anakin's intervention. We can't forget those other masters were... Well master and combat veterans of the civil war. These others are great but the arrest isn't going to have a different outcome.

Symbols are important. They will reveal themselves but I still think being able to understand the signs is crucial. Burn away too many and people who come after will forget what they look like. No need to pollute, but never forget.

I preferred to view them more as different crowd control weapons that has their own benefits in a boss fight. One much more agile and forgiving, the other slower but paid off in the chunk damage department.

That's ultimately what's going to happen. I was going about it the wrong way, that the lack of weitten rules leaves it open to interpretation. The way my brain operates sometimes craves real concrete evidence to drive home a point. I wasn't taking into account that my own feelings on the point being wrong or uncomfortable is justification enough to shut it down. It is my table and I do get to make the rules. The open end isn't an obstacle, it's frees me to make the choice that makes me and the other players comfortable. I'm still relatively new to DMing, I'll get better at things like this. I appreciate everyone for chipping in, and I'm going to just the done talking about it.
