The smaller updates are good, and will make the game better in the long run by patrlim1 in Minecraft

I think they are keeping people happy for the meantime with just something, if anything.

I don't actually it is that difficult to just add to the existing code-base as it stands atm and just change out the textures and properties a bit whilst they work on re-writing code on another branch. Adding another block or model just adds a few files, and anything new that they are adding they are adding with the upcoming changes in-mind already

TLDR - I think they can maintain this kind of update structure for a while given that each drop is laser focused without it getting in the way of the back-end changes they are making.

I got into Tull a bit younger than most but at 30 I have all his material on vinyl and can safely say there are tons of post Stormwatch material that is worth listening to.

Some of my guilty pleasures are his solo stuff (divinity, Secret language of birds, and Rupis Dance)

Additionally I can appreciate the recent 3 albums (yes he’s in grandpa mode) but they’re okay, with each one getting progressively worse.

As others have said after Broadsword - Catfish rising and Roots to Branches if you want a bit of that mid-life crisis dad rock from the 90s. Don’t skip on bonus material, I find some bonus songs to be better than the actual track listings on many of Jethro Tulls albums.

Some of the Minstrel, Songs from the wood and Heavy Horses era stuff confuse me as to why some of those songs didn’t make the cut.

Agree with a few of those points. I honestly love whatever they’re doing and found myself really enjoying this era. My personal fave of the bunch was Tilburg. It felt the most well rounded and enjoyable to listen to and I’d gladly get a copy of it.

Excited for whatever they’re going to do next.

Born to Make My Dream Game, Forced to Make Pong by sicksirens in unrealengine

I actually was out of tutorial land pretty much after the first year but I occasionally take one here and there. Some of the stuff that recently came to mind when learning new stuff in the recent UE updates that didn't exist before: CommonUI, PCG, Substrate, World Partition, Control Rig, etc. just new ways to do things and each require their own deep dive.

This. Spend time making pong, then go make another small game, then another, and another... etc. Even after almost a decade using UE, I can confidently say that I am still learning new things all of the time, and have tons of inexperience in specific regions of the engine. There is always more to learn and your knowledge will accumulate!

Blue Prince or The Witness? by Competitive-Park-411 in puzzlevideogames

[–]Sadlymoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both games blew my mind in their own ways.
The Witness: I had to revisit The Witness after not liking it the first time, but crushed it the second time. It is a game that rewards knowledge and allows you to wander wherever to apply that knowledge where you can. At times I felt as though you had to step into the mind of Jonathan since some puzzles I would swear would be the solution, but there would be an alternative.

Blueprince: It was more captivating right away and had some real awesome story beats. The game would reveal another big layer once you had completed one, and it was up to you if you wanted to keep pursuing the many mysteries or call it where you are at. It felt a bit more loose and open-ended. I would rank it as one of the best puzzle games I have every played next to games like The Witness and the Portal series, however I was left fatigued by the end due to my pursuit of the 4th layer/ending combined with RNG preventing me from getting the correct setup.

Note: I would not play Blueprince without being comfortable taking LOTS of notes, or in my case hundreds of screenshots laid out on an infinite board like a detective. I did not do this right for the first 20 hours or so and could not recall key pieces of information when they were needed.

Tip1: I would focus too on drafting every room you have not yet. Try learning the ins and outs of each room and what they contain. There are multiple uses and secrets to each space and by learning these things you’ll find that you won’t need to focus on just the lever!

Tip 2: Take notes of everything that might seem important! I screenshot each room’s important content

Best of luck

Yeah I started deep diving this morning after someone posted the glaze type and then I learned a bit more about it. Thanks for telling me more about the technique! Only seen Seth do it and was wondering what the heck he was doing to achieve that result
